Rich Ayurvedic blend. Smells the Gandhaprasarini!
The first ingredient is sesame oil. I had expected it to be the dominant ingredient in this mixture. Some other ingredients are (in order of appearance):Ashwagandha: This is an Asian evergreen shrub used for stress reliefBala (Sida cordifolia): another shrub from India. It is used in Ayurvedic medicine for its anti-inflammatory propertiesBilwa, I think it's the same as Bilva or Aegle marmelos. It's a sacred tree from India. Never take it. It is known to cause liver problems (see FDA)Kantakari (Solanum virginianum): an Indian plant that is also used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat heart and liver diseasesBruhati or poison berry: is used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is considered anti-inflammatory.Gokshura: A leafy plant that grows in Asia, Australia and many African countries. It is used in Indian and Chinese medicine as a libido stimulantPunarnava: used for digestion and as a gentle diureticGandhaprasarini: its Latin name is Paederia foetida. Foetida describes anything that has a foul odour. I think that's the main thing you smell when you open the bottle. It's used medicinally and even culinarily, but usually only in very small quantities. It seems to have been overdone here.Agnimantha (Premna Integrifolia): is another herb from India that is said to help with digestion. There are many other plants, all of which have their own effects. As usual, you should not take them if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. These plants are very potent. If you are using them for the first time, apply a small amount to a small area to see if you tolerate them well. The smell can put off some.

A specialist oil mix for massage
I am no expert at all in relation to massage oils and those who are regulars may have more valid comments on the complex mix. I can't believe how many oils are mixed to make this product. Its easy to use and a good size and appeared to me to be at a reasonable price.

Soaks in quickly and smells reminiscent of coffee
I can't comment on any health benefits of this oil but I think as a massage oil it leaves something to be desired, as it feels a little more watery and soaks in quicker than other oils I've tried. It's light brown in colour and the smell reminds me most of sniffing a jar of coffee - quite distinctive, but not disagreeable. I've had no adverse reaction at all from using it on my skin. I like the fact that it comes in a bottle with a flip-top lid and a small pouring hole, so there's little danger of knocking over and spilling it everywhere. I think the oil would be most useful as a moisturising oil after a bath or sauna for example, but it might also be worth trying for the claimed health benefits (i.e. relief from uncomfortable muscles and joints).

Lovely fragrance
I really do like this and it is amazing on my skin. This does help to ease the muscles once massaged in but I can’t say if it’s the oil or if it’s the massage which actually help's. This is reasonably priced for the bottle size and the condition it leaves your skin makes it worth every penny.

Gloopy and smelly
I love body oils as I have very dry skin and have tried a lot, most of which have been effective and I have been happy to use them.I really am not sure what is in this particular oil as the ingredients listed on the side of the box it is packaged in are unfamiliar to me, the only one I recognise is Sesame Oil.It is quite gloopy not as liquid as other oild I have had and the worst thing about it is the smell. I found it really nauseating. I am trying to think of a way to describe it and all I can think of is sweaty socks. I had to rush to the bathroomn and wash it off my arm where I had tested it.I really do not think I can use this at all.

Great massage oil
I am very interested in Ayurvedic treatments and have visited both Sri Lanka and India and enjoyed Ayurvedic massages in both places. This massage oil is packed full of Ayurvedic plants and oils. combined in this to help with joint and muscle aches. This is a massage oil and should not be taken or ingested .I am no expert and have not heard of most of the ingredients in this .I like the earthy , spicey aroma. It is not a sticky heavy oil and you should massage this into the area you want until it is fully absorbed into the skin.It is hard to tell if it has helped with joint aches but it feels nice and warming on my skin and maybe after a bit more time I will notice an improvement.I love the smell and think the price is very fair

Wasn't for me
This oil had a very distinctive smell that wasn't to my preference, it was very earthy and spicy in my opinion. The item arrived dirty like it had been kept in sawdust and the consistency didn't strike me as something that would be good for massaging. I didn't like the smell it left on my skin. The label looked a little cheap and the item packaging didn't give the impression of a premium item. Overall, this wasn't for me and I wouldn't use it again but a lot of that could be individual preference.
