Q: In build quality, how does it compare to lenco model af-25 electrode holder 250 amp, item# 01030? i don't need more than 200 amps. thanks

It worked fine for my application. I used one on my Lincoln Idealarc 250 and my little 110 volt buzz box. They both work as well as the much more expensive Lincoln electrode holders.

Q: Does it take the welding cable? Crimp on?

there is a large set screw that clamps down on the end of the cable. Mine works great.
