I felt I needed to replace the strut on my 2002 Honda CRV because I thought that the swinging door was dangerous around my young kids. I felt mine was worn out because much of the hydraulic action was gone from it.Sadly, this piece still allows the door to slam shut. It also doesn't stop the door from opening harshly. All in all, I'm not sure the hydraulic works much. (The door itself is heavy simply too heavy for it.)I bought it to save my toddlers hands from being shut in the door, and to prevent them from being knocked down by the door swinging open, and it does not really prevent either of those things.I'm keeping the OEM part that I took off, because I don't have faith that this piece will last the life of the car.It is easy to install, but that says more about the design of the car than the piece itself.

Not Bad
I have a Honda CRV and the back door hydraulic fluid leaked out, bought this to replace the old one. So far it’s still working and my only complaint is that the door opens a bit too fast so I worry it may not last long but for the price I can’t really complain.

2002-2006 Honda CR-V - Perfect Fit
Be careful during assembly to not let your door swing too far outwards - it could damage your tail light as there’s no buffer to stop it while unbolting and removing the old door strut. Works great, exactly what you’d expect for 1/7th of Honda’s asking price for their part# 74825-S9A-003

Good stuff, easy to put on
Very good stuff, do the job of holding the tail gate at any angle (that exceeded my expectations since I thought it could only open fully or close fully). Very easy to put on, I have no experience with fixing any part of cars after watching a YouTube video I got it on my 2002 CRV fits perfectly. Recommend the product. The tools required are also very common and cheap showed in picture.
