Really good sailing binoculars
I needed a pair of binoculars for my yacht. My requirements were good for nautical use, good low light performance and suitable for eyeglasses as I didn't wish to take off my glasses every time I wished to use the binoculars. Furthermore, as my sailing is in the UK, they needed to be easy to use when wearing gloves. Included compass was a "nice to have" option as it greatly simplifies monitoring collision risks as well as cross referencing with the plotter/AIS. Delivery was excellent (prime next day) and the packaging appropriate with ample cushioning. The supplied case is nicely made and firmly closes and the case strap does a good job. Too often the balance point for the strap is incorrectly positioned and the case refuses to hang appropriately - not so here, this is a nice functional case. The binoculars are very good. The grip is well thought out and works well. Attached covers mean they won't get lost. Clarity is excellent and the compass and rangefinder markings are well presented and at the same focus as the target so effortless to read. The compass is well damped and provides an accurate bearing far quicker than my hand bearing compass. There is no hesitation or "stick" in the compass - move your aim point a degree (even slowly) and the rose moves to display the new bearing - very good. I initially thought the rangefinder a little gimmicky but it's very simple. If I know the height of a feature off the chart just look at the angle display through the binoculars and then read the distance off the simple slide calculator. I've used the binoculars with both my glasses and without where I can adjust each eyepiece to an appropriate diopter. Frankly there just as good either way so yes - I don't need to take off my glasses either. I haven't tried out the "Floatable" feature and nor do I intend to but it's a great plus and I've gone for the yellow conspicuous model so I hope not to lose them to Davy Jones. Really couldn't be happier with these. They are better than a number of better known manufacturers that I have used when sailing with others and tick all the boxes that I had when buying. Best of all - they're a great price!

Can't go wrong for the price!!
Extremely good value for money. Nice and bright. Pretty much-fixed focus with eyepiece dioptre adjustment. Compass is good, but to get reasonably accurate readings, binoculars must be held level. Any inclination does shift the bearing compass reading quite considerably. But at a little over a tenth of the price of similar 'quality' binoculars well worth the money..

Exceptional quality and great value for money
I am so pleased with these binoculars, I simply can't tell you by how much. They are robust, well made and the self focus is just simply amazing. They are easy to use and perfect as marine binoculars. The compass damping is fantastic and the night light shows the reading beautifully. The range finder works well and is easy to use and when the result is compared to the AIS reading it is proven accurate. I had reason to contact the Aomekie Customer Service Dept. as I found the object lense protector covers did not appear to fit well. Candy came back by return and told me to insert the covers and then twist them slightly to rotate them into a locked position. This was not obvious to me but when I followed her instruction they worked perfectly. Candy is a credit to her firm and I am so pleased to have someone to call if needed. So often that proves impossible but not with Aomekie.

Fantastic!!!
I bought these for my husband as a birthday gift, he was over the moon with them stating they are the best quality binoculars he has ever owned! Love them. I would highly recommend Aomekie Marine Binoculars. High quality for a very reasonable price. Received very quickly. Very happy!

As good as a £300 pair of 7x50
I took my Fujinon Marine 7x50 glasses (bought 2004, currently about £290) on a boat trip with my brother in law. He was so impressed I started looking for a pair for him as a present. I saw reviews of these that said the optics were good and they weren't kidding. We did a side-by-side comparison on Monday. For the Fujinon: eye cup slightly softer so a bit more comfortable to look through, neck strap a little more padded which you don't notice once you have a fleece and a life jacket on For the Aomekie: The reticle as well as the compass card is lit. The reticle is numbered so no more trying to count how many mil it is. The Aomekie has a little slide rule on one side but it's just a gimmick unless you really need to measure angle. With mil (miliradian) 1 mil = 1 metre at 1km so the mental arithemetic isn't that difficult! You don't really notice the difference in weight, and they have the same "focus at a mile and see anything in between" with lovely clear optics.

Backlight failed within a year
RE-reviewed just under a year after purchase. I use these binoculars when dinghy sailing and they are a good combination of magnification, brightness, field of view, and clarity. After a year of occasional use, with the binoculars stored in a dry garage, I found the backlight for the compass had stopped working. I have replaced the batteries like with like and it is simply not working. Perfectly good binoculars for daytime use, or for night time use if you do not want to use the compass facility. To be honest, I seldom need to rely on the compass, and don't often use them at night, but the backlight should not have failed within a year.

Just the job
Wow these worked very well. Lightweight and they even float if they fall in the water

Binoculars are useless without the instructions and the batteries. Box was open and I'm missing the batteries, floating strap, cleaning cloth & instructions. Very disappointing.
