Good, need more testing
Small compact and solid built, seems to do its job as a case, passive cooling, and software (sometimes doesn't seem to tell the exact data) Design and build 4/5 Small, solid and easy to access, missed a spot for a thread for tripod, and magnet for phones Screen can be brighter, fonts could be bigger or the data could be managed in different way, (too many data in such a small screen, better subdivide them in different windows Passive cooling 3/5 Can't expect much more i guess, but on prolonged use it get too hot to be safe for the SSD Ease of use 4/5 Easy to access The screen it's too small for the quantity of info showed, subdivide them in multiple windows Safety 0/5 No dust, water, and probably not even fall proof, keep it in a safe place, the screen will scratch as soon as it can For now it working fairly fine, but if it keep having overheating issue, it's going back 2 temporary thumbs up

awesome little enclosure, shows ssd health and transfer info. includes 1' cable
My new favorite toy for the toolbag. Tossed a 512gb ssd I had into it and it displays info about the ssd as well as transfer rates. Also shows capacitor state in case of power loss. Transfer speeds are excellent with the included 10gbps usb c cable.

Great little Mdot2 for the M5 MacBook Air
I installed a 2 terabyte, 2230, nvme ssd into this tiny device with lcd screen. After that I applied some 3M double-sided tape to the bottom of it, then attached the enclosure on the rear left corner top of the M5 macbook air. Now I have three terabytes of blazing fast storage for the MB Air. Build quality is nice, made of the same material as the laptop housing. When I close the lid on the macbook air, it shuts down automatically. When I open the lid, it becomes available for access right away. 5 Stars for great design, I am happy with my purchase.

Coolest enclosure I've ever owned
This drive is surprisingly cool. It gives you tons of details on the display as it's running. Most of it is novel and not necessary, but it's interesting to see. I got it to help migrate to a larger drive and it worked great for my needs. It even told me the drive's SMART data was reporting 80% health, which might explain the speed issues I was having. I'm pretty happy to have this, even if I don't use it a ton. It's fast, small, and works well.

High Quality Enclosure
Great little enclosure for the money that holds any M.2 2230 SSD snugly and without worry of damage or overheating. Only takes a couple of screws to open it up and install your drive, and supports USB 3.2 speeds over type C. My only concerns are that leaving the drive plugged in can cause a lot of heat soak depending on what it's plugged into, and that, while the glass covered display is nice, I worry that it would be easy to scratch or damage it without some kind of protection or shell around the enclosure.

It may not be perfect, but for the price it works & performs reasonably well.
Overall, I'm very happy with this product, transfer is quick & easy, & I use it often. But a few areas where it falls short: First of all for an enclosure with no fan~ it should at least have some venting, but on top of not having so much as a single airhole, it's mostly made of anodized metal which although, looks & feels nice, makes a bad combo for overheating... anyway, it will get hot. Additionally, compatibility is still subpar when it comes to Mac & Android, still works, but the FW just has a few kinks that still need to be ironed out.

Nice enclosure, small size
Display is a cool feature, but probably useless. Small light indicator would be enough, however display should some additional information. Small size also a benefit, but weight is heavy, compared to competitors. Firm cable connection. What I don’t like: 1. When Mac led closed - disc disconnects, but then connect back. Not good if you are using it as storage for Docker. 2. Heavy size 3. No active cooling

Strongly Improved Experience After Replacement & Excellent Support
I originally posted a negative review because the first unit I received was running hot — my NVMe SSD reached around 72°C during heavy transfers, which made me worry about long-term reliability. I returned that unit through Amazon, and shortly after, the Dockcase support team reached out to understand the issue. I decided to try a replacement, and this is my updated and complete experience: • The new enclosure performs flawlessly. I tested it again with the same NVMe drive. While temperatures can still rise during sustained high-power transfers (in my case, up to the mid-70s °C), Dockcase confirmed that this is completely normal for high-power SSDs and well within the official operating range (0–85°C). The aluminum body conducts heat efficiently, so the warmth you feel is simply the enclosure doing its job. • Build quality and design are excellent. The enclosure feels premium, solid, and engineered with real attention to detail. The data-protection features and onboard display are genuinely useful — much better than generic NVMe enclosures. • Customer support is exceptional. Dockcase walked me through the temperature concern with a clear technical explanation and even provided documentation on SSD operating limits. They also processed a goodwill refund for the replacement after confirming everything was working properly — something I honestly did not expect. Their professionalism changed my whole impression of the brand. After using the replacement unit, I can confidently say the product works exactly as intended, and the temperature behavior is normal for high-performance NVMe drives. Dockcase stood behind their product fully, and that matters a lot. Overall: highly recommended — both the product and the company.

Very
This device is getting more heated than normal, you can’t touch at all to remove from the laptop that much of heat is producing, if you want to cook egg omelette you can make it with that heat, so kindly consider before buying…
