Cyber Acoustics AC-104 Mono Headset with Ambidextrous Boom Mic

I have been very impressed with my headset so far. I purchased this headset off of a recommendation from a company I was working with online. I needed a headset that had a good microphone. This headset has done a great job. Sometimes I need to record myself talking on my computer for a variety of work projects. I have found that the microphone that is built into my computer is not very responsive. When I talk into the headset, I do not have to talk as loud. In addition, it seems to block out background noise. This product would be great for any type of administrative assistant who spends a lot of time on the computer or telephone. I have used it a few times with my computer, but I have found another surprising use for it. Hands free cell phone talking while driving! This has become my primary use for the headset. I often connect the device to the audio port on my Iphone while I drive. It has been very useful to be able to talk on the phone safely while driving. The audio quality is great and I feel as if the person I am talking with on the phone can hear me even better than when I just talk directly into my cell phone. I have found that this product also works well plugged into my computer. This product is a great buy for the price and I highly recommend it! This headset really is a must have for hands free cell phone talking while driving!

got this for my xbox elite controller works great but if the head set didn’t work in the controller then something wrong with the controller it self its amazing fit might have to buy a device so you can mute it or increase the volume but its great fit never had a head set fit me this will

In general, I am pleased with the Cyber Acoustics AC-104 headset. It works good on my Samsung Intercept cellphone and my laptop with the Y-adapter supplied. The left and right channels are electrically connected and I imagine there is some sound loss with my computer, mp3 player and CD player. This would mean the tip (left channel) of the TRRS plug is shorted or connected to the first ring (right channel). This shorts the Right and Left output of the walkman and I believe this is not natural and suspect that is the reason for low bass output due to cancellation. It would have been better just to use the audio from the Tip or left channel. The ground is the second ring and the Mic is the sleeve according to my test with my multimeter. The main thing was to have only one side for sound so I can listen to my mp3 player and be able to hear the cellphone with the other ear when it rings. The sound element on the AC-104 should have had a center tap ground and thus both left and right of the sound source would be pushing its output if it was connected to the Tip and first ring from either side of the voice coil. I didn't realize that the ground of my mp3 player and CD walkman used the second ring for ground. A regular headphone has one part for the second ring and sleeve for ground of the plug.

Works perfectly for what it was designed for. I use it for voice comms, the sound is good for voices and the mic works fine (no complaints about quality from my teammates). My hat size is XL, and I have no issue with the size, fits me comfortably. This is an on-ear set, the cup isn't designed to go around your whole ear, keep that in mind if you're sensitive to that. I regularly wear them for 3+ hours in a sitting, and they're comfortable for that.

These are terrific over the ear headphones/mic. This works like a charm hooked up to my iphone 6. I live in Indiana and in my area it is not mandated to be hands free, but I have found that holding a phone while driving can be a handicap. And i didn't want something that I was going to have to constantly charge. My husband is on the road, he drives trucks. I bought him one but one that is blutooth, and he loved it, now I spend a lot of my time talking to him while I am running errands and on my commute. This has been fantastic. The only issue is that when I talk others seem to have some trouble hearing me. so the mic may not be the best. The headphone itself is great. I hear others with no trouble. I wish It had a truly hands free feature, which would allow you to answer, hangup. Initiate Siri (on an iphone) by just pressing the button on the headset… *Just like you I depend on reviews before purchasing any given item. Buyer beware: This head set is awful. Sound is awful, bad echo on the other persons side. Too big for my head. The ear pad is a horrible material that sticks to the ear and causes heat and sweat. Not worth the hassle to return it!! But I’m pretty upset wasting time and money with this!!

I love that these are one-ear only. I bought a couple other ones, a $30 pair dual ear pair that hugged my head too hard and a cheaper pair. Working from home, or at a call center, once I start taking calls, I kinda get this claustrophobic feeling like I'm trapped in another world if both of my ears are covered up. With these, you have a whole ear free, and you can change ears by flipping the mic to the other side. They also don't hug your head too tight. I really like these! They are less expensive so I'm going to buy a few pairs to have on hand. I also like hearing customers in one ear only! And you are still tuned in with what's going on around you. The quality is good, my customers can hear me and these pass all the regs. This pair has the regular ear bud jack, so make sure you get the USB extension if you need it.

EDIT: after heavy and abusive use for Xbox, the wire has finally started to fail (6 months of use, probably 4-5 times a week, and several occasions where I dropped the controller, which yanked the cord out, and thought it would break etc. Not too terrible...) I bought this headset to use with my Xbox One for game chat. Why didn't I buy some fancy turtle beaches you ask? I have a surround sound system, so I wanted a cheap headset that only covered one ear loosely, so I can still hear the surround sound system well out of both ears. This headset has worked pretty well for this purpose. It's actually way more sensitive than the cheap headset that came with the Xbox, which is slightly annoying - my friends can hear everything that people around me are saying, so I have to mute the mic often. (Note: there are no mute / volume controls in-line on this headset, but I have the Xbox One chat pad, which includes mute and volume controls). My only other complaint is that the wire is rather long - something like 4-5 feet maybe. It's nice when I am moving away from the controller while the game loads, but it does tend to get in the way sometimes. Minor issue that could easily be mitigated. I will update this review if/when this thing breaks - the wire is thicker than the Xbox headset's wire, and the 90-degree bend right at the plug should help prevent pinches.

Sadly, I could not adjust the head band to fit properly. At the smallest setting the tab on the off side to the ear piece still was needing to sit over my ear rather than above it. I am very short, shorter head than normal so it's not a defect of the headset. Very disappointing as it seems like a very good headset!

Ideal for office usage. You can listen and participate in conversations in calls and in person at the same time. You are aware of surroundings.
