Works great on main water valve! Very durable...Read review.
I'd give it 10 stars if I could. This thing works great! I have a water leak that we can not locate. I believe it's underground beneath my house, but we can find no wet areas. My water bill has doubled the past three months. The main water shut off valve is in my cellar, so I installed this device on it so that I can control the valve from inside my house. It has never failed to work perfectly. It has plenty of power to turn the valve handle and I believe it will last. Make sure to tighten the mounting bracket snugly to the unit before tightening the screw on the back side of the pipe. This bracket is designed to add strength to the unit when installed properly. *The small click you hear in the video is the back end of the valve handle slightly catching on the bracket. I need to adjust the bracket back slightly. Easy fix. It took about 5 minutes to install. Update: I still haven't had a chance to find my (slow) water leak due to weather and my waterline is buried about two feet deep under my house. I'm having to dig a ditch to even craw under the house. So I have Alexa turn the water valve on and off multiple times each day. I'm sure this device has operated over 1000 cycles by now. I'm very impressed with its durability. Most people would never use it this much in their lifetime. I'm thinking about buying a back up in case it does fail from excessive usage.

Unreliable
Installed and set it up, without any problems. Tested it multiple times, without any problems. Fast forward 4 months... We had a water leak in the house. A small crack on our refrigerator line. We were not home at the time. But fortunately I have water leak detectors in areas of the house, like the refrigerator, toilets, washing machine, dishwasher... But! When I tried to shut off the water remotely. The device was offline, and completely useless in an emergency! I had to call my neighbor to go over and shut off my water. Once I got home to take a look at it. I was finally able to get it back online after unplugging it, re-plugging it and reconnecting it a few times. But it still won't do anything. While the app said it did open and close the valve. I stood there and watched to do absolutely nothing. So I guess it's a blessing that it was offline. Otherwise I would assumed the valve was off, meanwhile who knows how much damage would have been done to my house, if the water would continue to run. So obviously it's past the return date. In the garbage it goes.

Works very well!
Initially I had problems installing it. It did not shut the valve completely. But I went back and re-read the instructions and realized that I had mounted it too far from the center of the valve. I re-installed it and it works perfectly. Also the app and WiFi installations were quick and simple. Since I have several leak detectors around the house that can message me if there is a leak, I can now remotely turn off the water should a leak occur in the house.

Pretty good for the price with a catch if you have pex
This is way cheaper than the Moen unit so I gave it a shot. I have 3/4" pex-b in my garage which is about the same OD as 1/2" copper. The rubber bushing they include to put inside the hard bracket is too soft to tighten down over the pex. The pipe is also too small for the hose clamp bracket. The unit will wiggle around when its trying to turn the valve if not secured really well. I ended up replacing the rubber bushing with some scrap pex cut down the middle. If you have PVC, CPVC, or copper piping, this install should be super easy for you. If I did this again, I would have cut out the pex valve and replaced it with a pipe thread valve with threaded pex adapters on each side so this thing would have solid metal to be secured to. It popped right up on my smart home app that I use for some wifi plugs. I am going to pair this with a set of leak detectors for when I go on vacation.

Exceeded expectations
I installed this in a humid, hot, underground valve well, with a plastic bucket on top acting as a water proof air bubble, itโs working great so far, no problems with the WiFi connection, surprisingly easy and reliable considering the price point.

Ordered returned for replacement that also didn't work
I purchased the device to open and close the water valve in my basement to the water line going to my dettached garage. I wanted a wifi device so I could turn the water to the garage on and off remotely with my phone. The first one I reveived installed into the mobile app but it would not operate the switch. I tried installing on the app using 3 different 2.4 gHz networks. It would not operate pressing the button on the device either. I returned it the next day to Amazon and requested a replacement. When the replacement arrive 2 days later I plugged in the device and tried it using the button on the device. The contorl arm operated with each button press. I then put it in pairing mode and again installed it in the mobile app. This one could not be operated by the app either. When I selected the device in the mobile app and through the edit feature checked the network connection it showed not being connected to the network. This is with the device beoing within 15 feet of the wifi adapter. I also returned the second device. I would suggest other save their time and try to find a device that will install and work through the mobile app.

Works really well
It took me about half an hour to install in correct place and to set up the online App/access but so far it works like a dream and I can shut the water off remotely if needed. I fixed it onto a Sharkbite shut off water valve on a 1inch main supply pipe. I considered the automatic version that is about $500 but it did not seem to actually do what I needed. We wanted to shut off water if there is a leak after our house had substantial damage from a leaking toilet while we were travelling.... 25,000 gallons flooded the house before the water company shut off the mains. After that experience we wanted an alert system and method of shutting water off. My configuration now is to have a wifi connected water leak sensor under the shut off which will send me a notification if there is any water and then I can simply shut the valve off remotely until someone can check it.

Good product, questionable power supply.
I hooked it up for the winter to be able to shut off my outdoor spigots without crawling under the deck and into my crawl space. Ran some tests and everything seemed great until today, a few months after install. Went to turn them on to wash the car and the device showed offline. Ok, maybe the device needs a restart? (Which would not be good as it serves little purpose if I need to crawl under there to restart it every time I need to turn into water on or off). Unfortunately, when I got into the crawl space the led on the valve controller was blinking irregularly, as was the led on the power supply. I looked at the power supply and fortunately itโs a standard 12v, 1A dc power supply so I figured Iโd test it with another 12v power supply I had. It fired up and connnected to WiFi and I was back in business. Maybe I got a bad power supply, but itโs disappointing to have to replace it already. Also, Iโm hoping the unit will only pull as much amperage as needed because Iโm using a 12v, 6A psu. Planning on trying to get a high quality 2A unit to use with it.
