These cabinets look even better than pictured. Well made, excellent color and good shelf depth. I bought two and butted them up against each other. They were easy to modify and paint.Very pleased.

This little project could not have been easier--seriously. It took me longer to stage it than it did to put it in (and you see how little I used to do that). I know someone posted they didn't get screws or caps for the screw holes, but mine did come with it. It is a substantial piece, not in the least bit flimsy. It slid right into the spot where the 20+ year old medicine cabinet had been. I will say that, for mine, once it was secured with the screws, it did not sit up against the wall so I did caulk around mine for a finished look. Honestly, I probably would have done this even if it did because I think it makes it look a lot more finished. It was a little spendy (but the exact same thing from the same manufacturer was $40 more on Wayfair), but in the end, well worth the money. I usually try to make my own version myself, if I can do it, but I can't make one of these. I don't have the tools or skills it would take, so to me, that makes it worth the price.

I purchased this little recessed shelf unit to replace a dated “builder grade” recessed medicine cabinet with a mirrored door in our powder bathroom. There was already a new framed vanity mirror unit in place adjacent and the wood color matched it perfectly - see photos.It was apparent that this unit has been designed as a direct replacement for standard sized medicine cabinets, as the existing rough-in cut out matched perfectly. But check your dimensions carefully, especially the rough-in size and the overall external dimensions, as this unit has a significantly bigger overlap on the wall, which may pose a problem in some situations.The cabinet is very well made, well packed and comes complete with mounting screws and cover plugs to match the finish selected.Overall an excellent shelving unit that offers a perfect upgrade, although perhaps a little pricey for what it is.

I loved the idea of a single product that could fit into a large range of rough in sizes. After a lot of amazon searching I realized I’d have to search a lot of reviews and installation manuals to find the compatible rough in ranges for each product, and even then sometimes that information was not readily available.People seemed relieved, grateful for, and delighted by this product. And to me, the convenience of replacing my 30 year old ugly wooden medicine cabinet with an allegedly decent quality solution was worth the $160.The product arrived well boxed but I have three grievances:1) my rough in is 14.25x20.25” which, according to the manufacturer specifications, is compatible with this product. Imagine my dismay when I could not get the product to cover my rough in completely; no matter what I did, 0.25” stuck out hideously. I would say that this product is suited for a maximum of 20.0” height rough in. I will need to buy and customize some moulding to cover that gap.2) the unit arrived with two large and unsightly cracks in the paint on the frame, where the right angles meet. For a $160 wooden box this is absolutely unacceptable.3) the wooden buttons that are meant to cover the screw holes do not fit flush with the unit. I actually had to route out the insides with a large drill bit so that the screw heads would not interfere with the fit.One upside is that it was very easy to install with an existing rough in.If the dimensions had been as advertised, and the quality even marginally decent, I would not have felt so insulted paying what I did for this. I’m glad my ugly medicine cabinet is gone, but this was almost a lateral move rather than an upgrade.I think I could spend the time making something that looks a lot nicer, or I am willing to spend a little time to find a high quality product that will probably cost the same amount of money or a little more.Really a shame because I love the concept of this company, making flexible, innovative, easy to install, simple products for a quick update. But they either need to charge half of what they currently are (though I think 1/3 would be most fair), or overhaul their quality control.As it stands I can’t return the product since I already modified the buttons, and I don’t want to stare at an ugly rough in until I find the right replacement.

I was a bit hesitant to order this because it seemed pricey. I recently had the wall repaired and took the opportunity to remove an old (1970's) medicine cabinet. I was looking for a replacement cabinet, but came across this while searching for the size of the wall opening (14" x 18"), and I'm glad I did!The first thing I noticed was the packaging; it came perfectly and snugly packed in styrofoam. The finish was super high quality, and made of solid wood. It fit perfectly into the opening and was very easy to install with the provided screws. It's hard to see on the product photos, but it mounts with 4 screws, 2 on each side, to the studs around it.I still think I paid more than I wanted, but it's definitely aligned with the value of the product.

This product was bought to fill a hole left by the peovious owners who removed a medicine cabinet and didn't repair the wall. The hole was an irregular height and searched for a while before I found this.It was a welcome alternative to making my own recessd wall niche. This unit covered the opening and looks like it belongs!Finishing this opening was the primary purpose though we use to hold a few light weight items, so it has been pretty durable.Be prepared to whip out some tools like an electric screw gun, a level and possibly some shims.

I'm here to echo what most of the other reviews have said. This was exactly what I had hoped it was. Super easy to install, very sturdy and well-made, and looks fantastic! I just wish it was cheaper but that was no surprise. I was hesitant to buy it simply because of the price but these are very nice shelves for a solution where you just don't have very many options. Perfect for replacing those old tiny crusty yellowing plastic medicine cabinets from 20 years ago!
