With patience, this product did the job!

On my trailers aluminum windows this stuff worked so great on the chalky areas, they actually came out shining like a mirror! This stuff doesn't work on major pitting. In fact there is pitting in most areas of my windows (from exposure to salty sea air) but even getting the non-pitted areas shiny make everything look better especially when you take a few steps back. The pitting will look like corrosion (in case you don't know - the pitting is the rough parts like there is something that needs to be scraped off, the smoother "chalky white" areas will come out shiny) It did help the pitted areas some but took more buffing. Be prepared to use up ALOT of soft cloths, the junk that comes off is black.It doesn't smell that bad so you can use it indoors in my opinion and my cloths washed for reuse (stains weren't totally gone but that is ok). You will be using a good amount of "elbow grease" it takes time to get the results even - especially since my windows have screws through the metal every few inches and it's harder to get it buffed in those areas. But this is definately a good product.

With a bit of elbow grease this does a good job --- equal too or a bit better than straight muriatic acid (34% hydrochloric acid). I tried both on badly stained pontoon boat tubes using a no-scratch Scotch bright pad (also tried using a heavy duty Scotch bright pad but that really did significantly scratch the aluminum). At first the muriatic acid did nothing, but then after setting for a couple of minutes and with some rubbing it did take off about 60-70% of the discoloration as did the 3M product with about the same amount of scrubbing on each. There is one significant difference in the final result: the muriatic left things dull with a slight white haze whereas the 3M made things bright and shinny --- nice if you're cleaning a whole area but not so nice if you're spot cleaning. Considering the hazards with the muriatic I'd go with the 3M (although it is not totally non-hazardous either).

Works very well. With machine and slow speed

The 3M Marine Aluminum Restore & Polish worked very well on the aluminum rub rail on my 16-foot Starcraft. A bit of elbo grease required, but rub rail is now shiney. Did not remove the pitting, but I didn't really expect it to. I recommend this product.

Product worked okay to shine up my old aluminum drift boat. Looked good for a small window and then dulled quickly. Might work better on a newer aluminum finish.

This is one of the best aluminum polishes on the market. Use to to shine my sliding door tracks to a mirror finish with a buffing wheel

This product is great! I use it to restore faucets in the bathrooms I clean. It also leaves a protective coating so you don’t have to keep up with the maintenance of scrubbing.

I had an old ham radio antenna that was very dirty and oxidized. I used this and the antenna looks like new.

Did what it said it would do. Lots of rubbing, unless you have a polisher to help with the work
