The volumes in this omnibus conclude the first half of the series as Sakura collects the final few cards before being judged to see if she is worthy of becoming the new master of the Clow Cards. The omnibus follows the same style as the previous one having slightly larger pages than usual for a manga and includes a number of full colour pages to show off the full beauty of the artwork. The story continues to be interesting, if somewhat episodic, with some of my favourite story arcs of the series in this book, including the school field trip arc and the brilliant holiday arc. The ending of the capture arc is also very well done with some good twists and some nice scenes. The only minor problem with the series is that there are some small issues with the translation but they don't detract from the enjoyment of the series. Overall this was a very good book with some truly beautiful artwork, a good plot and some interesting characters. `Cardcaptor Sakura' is truly a classic of the magic girl genre and I am very much looking forward to the release of the next omnibus. Review: So gentle, and just a great read - I bought the first book with the intention of re-living some classic moments from my childhood, as I watched the animated series on CITV religiously. I quickly fell in love with the manga version, as the characters were similar to the show, but were so different too. I couldn't believe the beautiful artwork and the heart warming stories. I naturally had to buy the second one as soon as I was done and wasn't disappointed! I think this is a wonderful manga, it should be in anyone's collection. And it's great value for money too! You get the whole set in two volumes, with colour illustrations throughout from CLAMPs original title pages and it's even slightly bigger than a regular manga book.
