Which is a shame because the coat itself is well made and had remained in good condition. So I tried Grangers and it seems to work very well – it's easy to use and just requires a run in the washing machine and then a cool tumble dry. And now the water just beads and falls off like it did when the coat was new. You get quite a lot for your money – a 1l sachet and as you only use 100ml per wash there seem to be several years’ worth here. I suppose the only issue is how long it will last. But I suppose I can reproof as necessary. Will definitely be using it again though - think it's loads better than Nikwax, as it doesn't leave any kind of residue on the surface. Also worth noting that when it was shipped to me, the bottle was crammed into a tiny box meaning it had been dropped and the lid had smashed. I contacted them about this and they instantly sent out a new lid in the post so that I can store it without worrying it's going to tip over in the cupboard. For example, on a very slightly padded cotton jacket that it not already waterproof?** A: Hi it should add some repelency but only in a light shower if your jacket isn't gortex. **Q: Hi. Is this product suitable for washing a sherpa blanket?** A: Sorry, don't know as we have never washed a Sherpa blanket **Q: When washing a jacket/coat or trousers, should they be washed insideout with this product?? Thank you for sorting the problem so quickly and willingly! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked on golf waterproofs *by W***R on 25 January 2014* Musto apparently use this product for waterproofing and returned some sailing gear that we sent back saying they had washed them in this so we thought we should try it. The returned jacket seems to be waterproof and is beading water on it again. It will get some serious tests so we should know more later this year. The golf waterproofs that we washed still seem to be ok. Got a load more to do, but definately worth a try. Was never that impressed with other brands that promised the same thing.
