I have a large case, and the cord would have been mashed if I didn't use this. It hasn't given me any issues, and combined with a little surgery on my case's side panel, it gave me just enough room to squeeze in the GPU.Don't know that I'd trust it with one of the new 50-series cards or even with an overclocked 4090.
