when germination occurs do you remove the some off that one plant or all?

I usually plant 2-3 seeds in each cup to ensure a plant germinates in every cup. After growing for a while, I choose the most promising looking sprout and prune the rest out.

Are sponges supposed to touch the water? Mine are suspended above the water even at max water level.

Yes the sponge inserted within the basket is submerged in the water mix so that the plants can get nutrients.

Consider the purpose of the dome - it is to retain moisture while the seeds are germinating and to ensure seeds / sprouts do not dry out during this process. Once a sprout gets to the point that that dome is a hindrance, you will want to remove it. Apply this policy individually to each plug. We may find that for each plug, the sprout(s) will begin to crowd the dome after the first true leaves appear. HTH.

Does the lights start on sunrise in the morning and end with sunset on evening? I bought 2 pieces but they just turn on/off and is on full all day..

The lights turn on and off automatically but I don’t think they are in sync with daylight.
