Very poor translation. Only scored 1 because the original Russian text appeared correct. Do not waste your money.

Actually, I don't hate Pushkin, I love him, it's just that there is no zero star rating. But having read a little of the edition on offer- "Look Inside!"- I can see that the English translations are gobbledegook. They read as what people say some Kindle editions read like- as if they have been translated by a translation app. If the actual book is like the pages on view here then it's rubbish. If, however, what we can see when we "Look Inside!" does not represent the edition available, then the seller is doing themselves no favours by showing that nonsense. An insult to Pushkin!

As an adult learner, I am enjoying learning Russian at my own pace, without grades. This book of poetry provides insight into idioms of Russian and how much of the language does not translate directly into English. Fortunately I have good teachers (neighbors) who help with explanations and pronunciation.

If there was a negative option to choose from, I would've gone with -10 at least. What a huge disappointment and in my humble opinion disrespect to Pushkin's talent with this horrible "translation".Example enclosed for those who speak Russian and English.The book format is strange as well- no content, no acknowledgement, or some sort of opening/ closing words.Waste of my money but mostly huge disappointment.

Excellent book if you want to brush up on your Russian and learn about Pushkin’s poetry.
