American Fridge Freezer Plumbing Ice Water Kit - Filter, Pipe, Hose Connectors fits Samsung LG Bosch Daewoo GE and All Other Models

I can confirm, having asked the question, that this kit works on PEX/polyethylene water pipe. The kit comes with instructions how to use the saddle valve which fits onto your existing water pipe and punctures it safely within the clamp in order to obtain a water supply to your refrigerator. The only thing I found is that once it came to assembling the pipe connection to this saddle valve is that all the components were impossible to fully assemble. There is small plastic pipe insert which is supposed to fit inside the end of the water pipe. I found it did not fit inside the pipe supplied and fitted the connection together without it which has been absolutely fine so it appears it is not a necessary component. That was the only hitch I faced in using this kit. I might suggest a useful addition to the kit might be clips to secure the filter cartridge to either a wall or the rear of the appliance. I have obtained a pair of clips elsewhere and secured them to the back of the appliance using command adhesive strips. For a kit designed for the first-time install of such an appliance this would be a welcome addition. The filter itself seems to be doing an excellent job. We have a very hard water supply and this has an impact on the taste of our tap water. We cannot taste that in the water through our fridge or ice cubes. Overall an excellent product.

This kit was easy to install and works really well. I was a little worried after I installed the bit that pierces the cold water supply as I did have a leak. That was solved by tightening the nut that helps clamp to the pipe work. Also you need to ensure the tubing is fully inserted and the blue clip is attached to help secure the tube. Fridge freezer now dispenses water and ice. Great

Used this to connect my LG fridge freezer to the water main. The nearest connection was about ten feet away and through a wall and two fitted cabinets. Works fine. The connection onto the water main leaked at first but I hadn’t got the fitting square to the pipe, once I’d sorted that it was great and the leak stopped. The filter isn’t suitable for my ff, which takes one with a bayonet fitting, so the bit about being compatible with LG etc isn’t quite true, but I bought it for the other parts of the kit, so the filter was superfluous.

I'm not a fridge repair guy, just someone who bought a Haier fridge-freezer about 8 years ago and needed to replace the filter when it started flashing. These american-style fridge freezers use the american-style 6mm hoses to connect up the water stuff. This narrow-gauge of hose has its own little ecosystem of clips and screws, V-taps and junctions that works much like the larger 15mm or 22mm push-fit we get in the UK. Switching out a filter without all those little gubbins is a real headache, as you have to hunt around for clips and washers, and plugs... Luckily, this set contained everything I needed except a stanley knife. The instructions were very clear, and the removal and re-fitting of the pump went very smoothly. The pack contained the right washers and plugs that I needed to hook it up to my water system and fridge, and it included a mounting clip for keeping it horizontal as shown in the diagram. I was very impressed by this kit, especially because it was 1/5th the price of the official one, and yet it's been working perfectly. I'm not sure why "flavour" was one of the rate-able features, you don't eat this thing. But I'll assume it means the flavour of the water that comes through it. Since it's just activated charcoal in a bed, it doesn't impart any flavour into the water, so what comes out is what went in. It's not a water softener or anything..

Got this kit because my LG didn't have an easy shut off valve which I wanted to mount the filter under the stairs so that it was easy replace. The kit worked a treat and worked with the LG filter which I just replaced with the one that came with the kit and after flushing the filter (you need to run two bucket loads as you will get a black substance first bucket load) it worked a treat and the water tastes just as good as the LG filter. I ran some spare pipe From the kit to the outlet side of the filter to the bucket to flush the filter rather than flush it from the fridge as it would have taken ages.

The item was damaged when opened the end of the filter was broken tried to repair with end of my old filter but unfortunately it didnt work water leaked out. Had already put the new pipe on .so could you please send me an unbroken filter . Many thanks.
