It's not a bad item to be honest, especially when you've gone and dropped another nut in an engine bay, then it's invaluable.The build is fairly good and sturdy enough to throw it in a toolbox and have it survive. The magnet strength is reasonably powerful for its size. I'm dubious about the 15lb hold claim but it easily grabs an adjustable spanner or screwdriver with quite a good purchase. Rubberised handle is comfortable to hold too. Overall not a bad thing to have around.

I have had a similar magnetic pick-up tool before which I lost, and whilst they are not a tool used everyday, when they are required they can be extremely useful. Dropping that nut or bolt somewhere in accessible when working on the car can be a disaster, but at least you have a chance of retrieving it with one of these!The tool seems reasonably robust, and extends easily. I would question the listing claim that it will pick up 15lb in weight though, as I believe this to be a wild exaggeration. Maybe under lab-test conditions this might be possible, but I tested it using a 6lb sash clamp which it just about managed to lift. This is still pretty impressive given the size of the tool though, so it will always live in my toolbox from now on.
