Not too big, not too small. It has decent sound, especially through headphones. I love the versatility of having an AM/FM radio and being able to play CD's and cassette tapes. I especially like that it has a built-in microphone so that I can record my grandson's voice on the cassette tape. Most small boomboxes I found will only record music off the radio or CD but can't record the voice. CONS: I mistakenly thought there was no power ON/OFF button. My daughter showed me that if you hold down the FUNC button, the unit DOES turn on and off. I wouldn't have known that if she hadn't shown me. One minor complaint is that the display window shows the functions as: AUH, 7AP, and rAd. It would have made more sense if it showed AUX, TAP, and RAD. This boombox doesn't have Bluetooth, but that wasn't a feature I was looking for anyhow.
