This model require a lot of electric power which a single USB 2 outlet of a sata cable may or may not just about to provide. There are usb cables 2 with two usb outlets which can provide more power . USB 3 cable can provide more power, but not sure if it is enough for this model. If you can find a SATA cable with two USB 3 out letss then you bhave a better chance **Q: Does it have 3 years warranty ? Can they be registered on WD website ?** A: Yes they can, however, I had 2 sent that WD said were form disks, one I gave up on having swapped out. WD will tell you when you register the disks if there is an issue.
