Follow-up to the beloved Disney classic. Tod (voice of Jonah Bobo) and Copper (Harrison Fahn) are still the best of friends, but when Copper gets a chance to join a popular pack of hound-dog howlers it seems as if their purebred bond is about to be put to the ultimate test. Review: Good Movie - A good disney movie, not as much as 'sequel' to the original though, it is actually based during the original when the two were still 'kids'. It doesn't have the charm of the original's animation and is quite obvious throughout but i still enjoyed it. The addition of several 'CGI' objects made the animation look a lot more sloppy though but only in certain parts. The storyline isn't comparable to the original, it is about the two going to a fair one day and meeting a pack of singing dogs and Copper discovers he can sing but has to pretend to be a stray to join. Its a classic new-disney storyline, having to choose between your friends and family, and something glamorous (in this case fame). Situation is still enjoyable but since most people have seen the original it is obvious how it ends. The singing sections are in truth, the major highlight of this movie, with a cast of great country music stars to back up the storyline. Reba McEntire has attempted to break into acting with this voice acting role and i believe it is very successful. Her voice acting is great as is her singing, which is refreshing that the voice actor also does the singing. A problem is that many of the favourite characters aren't included. Todd and Copper hold the main spotlight, backed up by their owners. Chief makes the occasional RARE occassion, not doing much except adding to the storyline. That is all of the original characters, which was disappointing but didn't ruin it for me. Another thing is the canine characters are somewhat more anthromorphic than they were, more human-like than animals but that doesn't take away from the story or charm much, just seems odd. Great for the whole family, doesn't hold the seriousness of the original so don't expect it to change your life, just a great movie. Just sit back and relax and enjoy it with your family. Review: A fun film for your inner child - I love todd and copper. It is nice to join them on their adventures again. It isnt as good as the first film but it is entertaining nonetheless. Its a film to which one can sing along, as well.

classic, just like part one : )
My daughter has been pestering me for this for ages until she finally bought it herself with her pocket money. I refunded her pocket money after I sat and watched it with her! I loved it too : ) She had bought Part 1, which is just as good and yes, she got a pocket money refund for that...!

An Unnecessary Sequel...
The Fox and the Hound is a beautiful Disney classic which I have reviewed and highly recommend as it's an extremely sweet story and a personal favorite of mine. So I was curious what the sequel was like, if they just prolonged the story or was it new characters? I wasn't too sure if this was a prequel or a re-make of the first film. Because of the way the story was in the first film, this movie didn't make much sense. I wasn't sure if it was just an added story, if it was, it was a bit immature. While the story and characters were cute and perfect for kids, it just didn't do anything for me since I'm such a fan of the first film. I just feel like they shouldn't have ruined the story, the ending to the first film was perfect, we didn't need an additional story of Copper and Todd before they became adults. But it wasn't bad for children as it's just a typical Disney sequel. Todd and Copper are back as young kids, they are having their typical play dates, but Copper is feeling a bit down since he feels that he doesn't have any special talents. After a failed attempt at trying to hunt, Copper's master leaves him home when he takes Chief to the fair for the howling and hunting contest. Todd takes Copper to the fair anyways to cheer him up, and they end up meeting a stray dog singing group who wants Copper to join due to his surprisingly pleasant singing voice/howl. Todd then feels left out, but Dixie, the singer that got kicked out of the band because of Copper, has a few tricks up her sleeve and wants to get back in to the group. Todd in the mean time just wants his best friend back. The Fox and the Hound 2 is an okay Disney sequel just like many of them. But like I said, it just wasn't needed. The movie relies on, like majority of these sequels, computer animation and is just not on par with the original. The additional characters were cute, but they didn't do anything much for the flaky plot. I would recommend that you stick with the original movie, as it's a classic, a beautiful touching masterpiece, everything that this sequel unfortunately is not. I cannot give this movie more than 3 stars.

Bought this to watch over the festive holidays with my grandson, but didn't get around to it, so although not actually seen yet, just know I will enjoy it as I love the first one so much!

In Perfect Harmony.
The Fox and the Hound 2 is a 2006 Disney direct-to-DVD sequel to the 1981 Disney classic of the same name. In this animated tale, Tod-a fox- and Copper-a hound dog- are the best of friends, however, their friendship is strained when Copper is invited to join a group of singing dogs, and Tod do not know what to do. The voice talents of Reba McEntire(Reba, Tremors), the late Patrick Swayze(Next of Kin, Road House), Vicki Lawrence(Mama's Family, Hannah Montana)and Jeff Foxworthy(Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?)made this film enjoyable to watch. The special features includes a behind-the-scenes look of the film, a music video by Lucas Grabeel(High School Musical) and sneak peeks of other Disney favourites like Cinderella 3, Air Buddies and Meet The Robinsons. The Fox and the Hound 2 is perfect to watch with your children and grandchildren. :)
