Q: Using as a accent in a mitred countertop edge outdoor in Arizona. Anything I need to do to protect it from very occasional rain?

PVC edge banding can protect the countertop from the occasional rain.

Q: Can it be any heat source?

An iron is the best source. If you don’t want to mess up your iron with glue you can use wax paper in between the wood tape and the iron.

Q: One response says it can be stained. if it is pvc, then i don't think so, but can it be painted?

No, it can't be stained. You might be able to sand it down and paint. I would try a test strip.

Q: Will this bend and flex to mold to a curved shape?

Yes, as you can see it come roll up so it is flexible.
