While I wont argue with your experience as that is yours to keep; I on the other hand have had vastly improved gaming and work experiences with this drive and an older Intel 750 in the same form factor.For example, Opening a vmware pro windows 10 or 8 machine on a Dell Precision workstation T5810 (and yes thats with that sloww ECC memory) the difference of running a vm on this drive vs a standard 7200 rpm drive is night and day. The vm on the spinning disk experiences massive lag and is virtually unusuable without increaseing the specs of the vm. So I can create a less resource intensive vm (ie. more vm's on one machine running at same time) with this drive than with old drives. Plus even on a single vm running scenario the performance is almost equal to a live machine.Gaming: Running the files ie. loading the games from this drive (as boot or installed as storage) Starcraft 2 loads twice as fast ie. no lag perceived. WOWarships loads faster by far, Eve Online easily three times faster loading into servers. I could go on but there is no point, if a game is impacted by io then this drive is about as good as it gets, probably forever on your current machine until they do something faster on the platform. I base that on the experience of the "slower" Intel 750 vs the Optane. While they say they are faster benchmark wise, I cant tell the difference between the two on games and VM's. Unlike on older SSD like an 850 Samsung EVO, I can see the difference on these NVMe drives and those EVO stata drives.If you can afford it get a machine or MB that supports this and play or work away knowing its as fast as it gets.

The speed is awesome! I see my BIOS one blink of my eyes and the Windows 10 login screen is in front of me. I originally had this card in my x16 slot (the graphics slot). This was a mistake that caused Windows 10 WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error and Bad_System_Config_Info errors on my ASUS TUF Gaming Z370-Plus board that I purchased on another vendor's website for an "Open Box" price. Today, I moved this drive to the maximum PCI Express 2.0/3.0 x4 slot. I have not had one BSOD "WHEA_Uncorrectable or Bad_System_Config_Info since. The whole time I thought the Motherboard or Intel Processor was bad! Thank goodness I was wrong!! The Motherboard needs to be an "Intel 300 Series" Mobo. My last SSD was an Intel 335 Sata 3.0GByte drive from 2011. It still works today. Intel produces the best and this drive will put M2 drives to shame. The photo is the proper configuration.

No these don't match modern consumer NVMe drives for sequential reads and writes but they have very low latency and are excellent boot/OS drives. Noticeably quicker than a gen 3 consumer NVMe and these will last far far longer as they have near enterprise grade DWPD and MTBF.
