Why? I bought a nice 8 camera CCTV security camera system a couple years ago. It still works well but their were two limitations. The cables are not easy to run through the building structure due to the cable ends and the wire itself is subject to interference and voltage drop over any distances. So I really could not get my cameras where I wanted them. Be aware the cable length you need can really add up trying to run the cables properly. Testing? You only have so much time to return product purchased if there are any problems so I recommend testing them all as I did.Simply connect the adapter pairs. One to the camera and one to the DVR. I used a 150 ft. CAT 6 cable connected to both ends. They all did fine and the connections were all tight. I experienced no interference in the video during the test. Inside or outside use? These are not rated for exterior use but its easy to overcome. My house has vinyl siding & I bought light mounts for each camera. The camera wire runs inside where the adpater connects so not in direct weather. If you were not use mount plates you can use the wire shrink wrap. Simply slip it over the connection and use a hair dryer on it. It reduces water and air exposure and less likely to have oxidation on the connections. Final Thoughts Aside from the connection any exterior camera should be under an eve so it has some weather protection. These CCTV to Network adapters are the perfect solution to both problems allowing the CAT 6 wire to be used instead of the CCTV cable. It is easier to run and cheaper to install. This will allow you to get the cameras where you wanted them and improve the video.

Love this camera system. Opted for the wired DVR to conserve on bandwidth. The app for the phone to access the system remotely is easy to use. I am writing this review one year later and everything has been working the same as the day I installed it. Customer service has been responsive and very easy to reach. I would highly recommend!

It is the best use for business security

These worked just great, cameras that wouldn’t work with the cable works great with these.

I was looking for a replacement for BNC cables which are quite unreliability. I had a brand new CCTV system and a camera wasn’t working. After much troubleshooting and research I discovered it was the BBC cable. On 1 occasion the BNC cable got tugged and the camera feed went out for about a day and returned miraculously. I gave these a try and now the camera works. I replaced 2 BNC cables with these and find that they improved the video quality. I would recommend these a suitable replacement for BNC cables and give yourself the option of choosing and changing the length of cables you need too.
