Great ukulele!
I am so pleased with my choice of this ukulele! Although the price puts it at the cheap end, the quality is great: the wood is beautiful, it feels heavy/solid in your hands, the off-centre sound hole makes it slightly different to most ukes around (more personal/recognisable)...the strings are flimsy/plastic, but this makes it much easier to play! The case is also great: simple, understated, convenient: makes travelling super-easy.Like all new ukuleles, it took a bit for the strings to stay in tune, but a day or 2 in, they're staying put (and frequent re-tuning is good practice anyway!)I was new to ukulele-playing, but with so many resources online, I've picked up a load of songs pretty easilly, without having to pay out for an instruction book.Still working on my strumming technique, so the sound will probably get better in time, but the volume this uke busts out is still pretty good (I've heard louder though). The only thing I'd change is that, the off-centre soundhole means that the black fretboard extends lower on the right hand side, meaning that my fingers often catch/tap on the fretboard as I go to strum: this could just be bad technique though, and can be avoided.A great purchase though!! :D

ITS LOOKS FEELS LIKE A GREAT UKE . SOUNDS NICE TOO
GREAT LITTLE UKULELE THAT'S A BIT DIFFERENT FROM THE REST . AND IT LOOKS REALLY NICE WITH ITS ELECTRIC GUITAR SHAPE . ALSO THE HOLE IS MOVED SLIGHTLY AWAY FROM TOP/HIGH STRING STOPPING THAT STRING OVER POWERING THE OVERALL SOUND WHICH IS A NICE SOUND ON SUCH A CHEAP INSTRUMENT .. STRING ARE NOT TOO BAD FOR ME THOUGH MANY RECOMMEND CHANGING THEM . i JUST GAVE MINE A REAL GOOD TIGHTEN (SLOWLY) TO HELP STRETCH THEM .. AFTER 1 WEEK OF PLAYING DOESN'T REALLY GO OUT OF KEY . I JUST PLUCKED ALONG TO FAMILY GUY ON THIS lol AND IT SOUNDED REAL NICE AND WAS SO EASY . LOVE IT & EVEN IF I DON'T PLAY MUCH IT LOOKS NICE HUNG UP ON MY WALL MATCHING MY AUTUMN COLORS . I GOT THE HONEY BURST ONE AS ITS SO PRETTY

Had to send back sadly
I chose this ukulele as I loved the look and it was a great price for just starting out on a hobby I'm not too sure about as yet and the reviews are great.I can see why it has received such good reviews. It took my need to sadly send this back and changing my order over to a Mahalo to see why it has got high scores. I didn't tune it but my difficulty in tuning the Mahalo is showing me that it might have been the better option for playing. This is an adults ukulele for sure unlike the other cheaper ukes such as my replacement which look like toys unfortunately. Cute but much more childlike. It appears to have good strings, I see that now that I have been trying to tune and maintain tuning on the cheap strings on the Mahalo. Perhaps even Aquila strings as suggested in another review - however I couldn't find anything that confirmed this. The machine tuning heads seem to be good quality, again only on reflection and comparison. I believe they will hold a tuning better then on the Mahalo. However, as it is cheap, the finish is poor. Probably a bit too poor despite being cheap now that I've seen the finish on the cheaper still Mahalo, which only has one flaw which I am willing to overlook. Any splintered wood and rough edges are just painted over on the Bugs which looks shoddy. The body feels plastic which was a shock when I first viewed it. Now I've seen the Mahalo I'm not too bothered by the body on the Bugs and the (untuned) sound seems better on the Bugs then on the vaguely tuned Mahalo which seems to be made from wood.So why am I sending this back and not exchanging? Well the packaging was good and was received in good condition. The case that comes with the ukulele is a soft case rather than a cheap slip which helped to protect it further. Yet still, there was a huge crack in the back where the neck meets the body. Unfortunately this rang a lot of warning bells for me. Otherwise I would have happily exchanged in the hope that the exchange would have a better finish in theory.

Great Beginners/Intermediate level Ukulele
Bugs Gear: Offset Acoustic Soprano Ukulele. Black ver.,Imported into the UK by Normans Music.,This Ukulele(Made like the majority available today in China.)was designed by Japanese manufacturer Bugs Gear who also make an electric Eleuke Ukulele.,Ukulele's were first brought into Hawaii and the Asia Pacific Japan area by Portuguese traders in the late 19th century and are still very popular over there today.I chose this particular ukulele as an upgrade from a very basic begginers model. and was attracted to the Bugs Gear-Lorenzo/Crazy Uke because of the slightly different Body Shape from the standard Soprano style models that are widely available. The Ukulele itself is very well constructed for this price range? and has a slightly approx.2cm deeper Body(Total depth at Bridge approx.8cm) The larger offset Sound-hole seems in my opinion to give a greater depth of Tone rather than an increase in Volume? and is a great step-up from my basic beginners model. with in the case of this version a Smooth Matt-Black Paint finish with the Bugs Gear logo in Gold on the Headstock. and comes almost ready setup. Complete with decent quality set of Nylgut type Strings That needed minimum tuning to settle down and stay in tune. and a basic lightweight waterproof Nylon bag for transportation. Mine also came with the Crazy Uke Branding Label inside the Body. rather than the Lorenzo(Normans Music Uk's Budget range)Label. although the Ukulele is identical in all other respects.
