Wow, well over 4 hours and the beef stew was piping hot! Husband in the hospital and I take my lunch there to eat with him every day. Wonderful thermos! It does ALL it is supposed to do!!! No spillage either. Compact, holds enough even for 1 adult! Thanks for having such GREAT items, Amazon!! Love this.

Great thermos for school lunches
A really nice product. I don’t know how these hold 12 ounces but I measured it and they do. Keeps things warm for about 5-6 hours, especially if you pre-heat with boiling water before filling. 12 ounces is a great size for a modest entree? The opening is plenty wide to use utensils to eat directly out of the container. These really broaden the range of what we can pack in our kids’ lunches.

Great product for those kids lunches.
This is my second purchase now. Last year I purchased one for my daughter and now my son is attending a new school which they don't have microwaves at this school. We live on a island where the schools here is where you provide the lunch for your kids. So with a Thermo it is a bit more useful to send my kids with a hot meal that I promptly make in the morning and is still warm by lunch time. Only part is I cant say as to why some of the foods I make for my children will stay warm enough by the 5 hours but yet some do stay hot enough. And yes I have boiled hot water in the kettle in advance but feel it is more about the testure of the food then the heat as well.

It's a great thermos. My son is thrilled that he can now eat a hot homemade lunch. I heat it by pouring boiling water into it, let it sit for a minute, then dump out the water, and then fill with hot food. He came home raving about how great it is and just so excited. His lunch was hot 6 hours after I packed it. The only thing wrong with it is that I wish the opening was a touch wider.

Great for soup maybe, not so great for leftovers
The item is called a food jar so I expected it to do more than keep soup warm. I really wanted a container to pack hot lunches for my child. This does keep the food warm, but the opening is too narrow. The way the top of the inside container is shaped the food actually gets stuck around the upper edges at an angle impossible to maneuver a utensil up there. The container came home from school looking like my child plastered the top edges with mashed potatoes, but it was only because the spoon couldn't get it down and out. I would imagine this might even pose a problem for getting soup out. I have been through 3 different types of insulated containers for food. This jar would be ranked at the bottom. Disappointed. The lip on the Fogo container is easier to get food out, but the Aladdin lunch bowl is the best (and cheapest) in that regard. It may not hold up as well- cheaper plastic and the seal comes out, but my child can eat easily- it is as open as a bowl.

Perfect size and keeps food hot
The container looks small but it holds 12 ounces and keeps food hot. I love that it fits in a lunch bag and I have room for other items. I purchased this for my high school student who likes to take soup or pasta from home. Wash by hand not in the dishwasher. I would recommend this thermos

It is fine products, except it seems to give the soup a bit of taste of stainless steel. This seems to be the case even after I washed the item in the dishwasher. I know that ingesting heavy metals, even in small quantities is unhealthful, so this concerns me.
