After adding the clips, are the shoes still comfortable to wear?

Yes. I have a bunch of different clips for shoes and use on different shoes. Never had them bother me.

Can the clip to the side of a bootie?

They would have to clip to the topside of the bootie. They can't go through the material. They really were beautiful.

What color are the beads - purple?

2 colors gun metal grey and medium not too dark purple.

Will the clips ruin the shoes ?

If the clips are left on the shoes during storage, it may leave an imprint, especially on suede shoes. After my mother wears them, I remove the clips. Her shoes are suede and they do not leave an imprint after the usual wear.
