Great toilet seat raised
Well, once again, this was a very easy install. It was easy to put on easy to turn the knob to make it very tight on the toilet so you didn’t have to worry about slipping and sliding the handles are very sturdy and my husband‘s been able to lift himself up with no problem and no fear. It’s a great product. Well done well made good work.!

Very functional - but a few things to keep in mind!
So, overall this raised toilet seat is great. I got it for my mom, as she is currently recovering from hip surgery. The seat stays very securely attached to the toilet with minimal installation. Also, the rails / frame are super easy to install AND remove and are covered in a nice spongey material that is easy to grasp onto. Just as a side note - she does have a pleasantly plump rear :) and told me that she would love for the seat to be a little wider and with a little more room between the railings, so make sure you measure the dimensions. We actually ended up removing one of the rails and it has worked fine and is a little more comfortable for her. But her booty just kind of "muffin tops" over the edges of the seat. She is not heavily overweight but is not petite either. Given that, there are a couple of important things to note about installation: First, I don't know about everyone else, but the sticker at the front of my seat shows that, in order to 'lock' the seat onto the toilet, you should turn counterclockwise. Well, this is completely incorrect! The correct instructions were in the installation booklet (photo attached), but I just thought it was so odd that the actual sticker on the seat was wrong. I wish I could remove a half star from my rating just for that! Second thing to note is that this seat ONLY works if the frame of your toilet (where the seat rests upon) is completely flat. This is hard to explain, but I've included some photos to try to help show what I mean... It took me a while to figure this out because the toilet that I originally tried this on has slightly curved edges instead of right angles (see photo). Therefore, there was no way for this seat to be installed without being unstable. We have a 2nd bathroom that I decided to try (with a "flatter" frame), and it literally took me 10 seconds to install it there, so I knew the issue was with the first toilet, not this seat. Aside from that, it's a great purchase and I would definitely recommend it. The ease of securing to and from the toilet also make cleaning very easy, which is nice :)

Easy all the way around (to set it up, to use it and clean it with the raised seat)
Great seat for my handicap husband. Sturdy for his 200 pounds frame. Bought another one more expensive with handles, but didn't work out. I have order another one of this( Vive Raised Toilet Seat).

Well made product
This seat is ultra stable on the toilet after adjusting the knob. I am 185 lbs., and I tried to tip it over and failed. Well manufactured. the side rails work great and makes getting off the sea very easy. Here again I tied to tip it over and failed. I review the complaints about this product and have to believe the people who purchased this product did not attach it properly to the toilet. I could not find any fault with the seat.

Awesome find!
My mom is recently in a wheelchair, after a stroke. I have bought her every gadget or helpful thing I can. She said this is my best purchase. It more "normal" than the other metal seats and much more comfortable.

Durability may not be the best/cheap hardware too
Update to my earlier review to add: Also noted: I needed to replace a broken nylon washer on the seat hinge that I had before I bought the Vive riser, and just now found out how bad the rusty hardware Vive supplies! The long bolt was rusty, as was the metal washer, and wing nut, and that I had some difficulty removing because of the corrosion. So, if you do buy the Vive riser, then it would be a good idea to coat the hardware with something that might help rust from forming like silicone spray or at least petroleum jelly. I'm sure there are others better suited too. This happened in only 3 years of use, so beware of this seemingly minor detail that can bite you later if you aren't aware like me, until you are! We have had this for a little over 3 years (bought 2020), and it has served us well, except that it started to deform a bit with dimples in the top from the seat after a short while, and then maybe a year after, it started to show cracks in the top on either side where the toilet seat rested. I bought this because it was rated to 350 pounds, and that's about what I was at my heaviest weight, so it should have held up better than it has. And now, the price is almost double of what I paid 3 years ago, though that does fluctuate a bit on Amazon. I like the Vive company, but will not buy this one again, but will go with the OasisSpace riser instead this time, even though it's only rated to 300 pounds, but I am a little below that now, so it should be fine. And the OasisSpace riser is at least $25 less than the Vive. Hopefully it is made a little better than the Vive for durability. But these hinged risers are definitely the way to go, since they are so much easier to keep them clean on the underside. And my knees have never been more thankful too! Initial revue below: I bought this mainly because of a bad knee that was making it so hard to stand up after sitting on a too low toilet. This is a real blessing, and just what I needed. That 3-1/2 inches makes a big difference! Also, this one was one of the only ones rated to 350 pounds, so my 325 weight was easily covered. It is very sturdy, though you do need to tighten the screws while holding the wingnut below the bowl, every now and again, as it will loosen a little through use. It doesn't become unstable, but shifts a little sometimes, so it's good to keep that screwdriver handy and not let it get too loose. The handy hinged version like these is the way to go with a riser, for sure. No doubt this will probably help some with back problems and hip problems too, if they hurt when you get up or sit down. Orthopedic doctors offices sometimes have higher chairs for those with problems in their waiting rooms, I have discovered, thankfully. So the height increase does work! This seems by all indications to be a quality product, that is built very well, is easy to install, use and clean, and will last a long time. What is also nice is that it allows the full size of the bowl to be usable, unlike those cheaper clamped on versions that have a much smaller opening to the bowl because of their design. We have one like that in the basement that will probably get tossed now, and I did not like using it, nor trying to clean it or having to remove it to clean under that kind of seat riser. You can add handles to this, or maybe better, the portable one that looks like a walker if you still need help rising after use. Those do not need to be installed, like the handles that can be added to the seat. I plan on adding that sometime, if needed. When back trouble hits, sometimes sitting down is painful too, along with getting up. So assistance handles would help. But this Vive toilet seat riser is the smart first step to helping yourself.
