Black Hammer Volume 2: The Event

Outside of DC and Marvel, it's rare to find superhero comics as engaging as Black Hammer. The aforementioned companies have been at the costumed adventurer game for over 80 years apiece and I thought all the stories have been told. What Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston (with a CC Beck-inspired assist from David Rubin) have accomplished is riveting. The storyline started continues from Volume 1 where a group of super-heroes are exiled in a strange urban town. Individually, the masks are aside and we look into the lives of Abraham Slam, Golden Gail, Col. Weird, the Barbalien, Talky-Walky and Madame Dragonfly where we're left to wonder if the group are just prisoners or victims of some other fate. Without giving anything away, the author deftly builds the mystery that most of the main characters have other motives for the group.In addition, the back matter of this volume includes some process art to see how a comic page is built.

This is a great superhero storyline filled with plot twists and great characters. Jeff Lemire is a great writer, I love his work.

This is the best comic series I've read in many years. If you have a working knowledge of super hero books you will probably love this spin on some classic characters.

Storyline that was really good shipping was good but there is a tear on my book. And I don't appreciate it

Black Hammer is hands down one of the best written graphic novels out there! This second book is where the mystery of Black Hammer and the event that got them trapped in Black Hammer Farm really starts to unfold. You begin to suspect who may have been behind it and the story just gets deeper and deeper. I cannot wait for the 3rd one!

Engaging, maddening, I can’t wait for volume 3 to see what happens! A crazy alt-universe take on superheroes (some very close, like mark markz/ jonn jonnz, others unlike any you’ve seen before) that is a real page turner. Think watchmen meets Astro city...

I read #1 and #2, #3 is on the way, so I guess I really do like them...

Tomo 2 recopilatorio, en edición tapa blanda, idioma ingles. Continuación directa del volumen anterior, en este se profundiza más en las problemáticas individuales de cada personaje. Se puede apreciar ese lado humano en cada uno y como su vida de superheroe y la ordinaria entran en conflicto. Una historia muy diferente a las de marvel y DC, altamente recomendable.

O livro me ajudou a treinar meu inglês e ainda pude continuar a ler a história sem ficar esperando chegar a versão em português ainda não lançada. O papel é couché fosco, o que deu uma sensação de “folha plastificada” de ótima qualidade, do tipo que aguenta bastante tintura, preservando a qualidade da imagem. O que vem a calhar, já que a história é colorida de forma idiossincrática é muito cuidadosa.Adorei também que a versão da DarkHorse tem o mesmo tamanho da em português da intrínseca, então para colecionadores mesmo que você compre nos dois idiomas, não fica com um visual estranho na estante
