Compact and Cool
Sounds great through a P.A. or amplifier. Very quiet for practicing. Nice and easy to carry about, perfect for amplified open mike nights saves me lugging my heavy acoustic about. Comes with lots of extras..tuner, plectrums ect.Always causes a lot of attention with the unusual design.I easily lowered the action with the truss rod using the supplied Allen key.Dead chuffed with it and is inspiring to play.

Guitar Action appears to be a problem.
For the price this travel guitar appears to be surprisingly good quality in terms of materials. The main problem is that it ships with a ludicrously high action (many have commented on this). But as most suggested that truss rod adjustment would fix the issue I decided to buy. The neck had a fearful under-bow when I unboxed it and even when I tightened the truss rod fully, the action at the 12th fret 6th string was 3.5mm!! At least 1.5mm too high and really difficult to play. I can probably correct this issue by removing and filing the saddle but I have contacted support as I am worried that the neck geometry may be out of whack.I don't think you should have to file a saddle from a new guitar to get it somewhere close to playable. So the rating holds for now and I will update when I receive advice from support or conduct some DIY luthiery!Update - In fairness to Donner it has only been a few days since I contacted them - no response as yet.I decided to go ahead and sand the saddle. This has improved the action but still 3mm 6th string 12th fret! I don't have enough saddle to take another mm off it but may be able to take 0.5mm. Rating remains.2nd update. Donner did respond and replaced the guitar once I had sent photos of the action. I have to say Donner were superb - not quibbles just replaced the guitar. The new guitar started out with a high action but truss rod adjustment and sanding down the saddle created a good action. The difference was I had a lot more saddle to work with on the new guitar so saddle height must vary a bit. I use it with the Boss GM800 synthesiser and it is great for that. Upgraded from 3 stars to 4.

Terrific
I got this so I can practice without annoying the neighbours. It checks all the boxes on that score.Just remember, it's basically an electric guitar with a cut-down body, but it has enough build quality and sound quality to use for real - sure, some snobs may well be very sniffy about it, but I've found it to be a reliable and lightweight workhorse. It feels weird to tune it at first, but with familiarity it just doesn't.Like all electric guitars, you need a slightly different technique to play it, but there's enough of a body to find a place to rest your hands.I like it a lot, and it gets used daily - even used it for gigs... I don't bother with the frame pieces, I feel they detract from it being itself, if you see what I mean.Well worth the extra.

A FANTASTIC GOOD QUALITY DONNER PRODUCT..
The Donner Hush-I Guitar has a smooth satin finish in black and once put together looks great,It is very easy to tune with included Allen key which is stored in the guitar body it is also used to put the guitar together, This is a electric Acoustic guitar and it does what it was intended to do very well and especially at this price point , The included earphones and tuner are a welcome addition,I have the Hush-I mounted on the wall in my music studio and I have used it every evening since it arrived I find it very light and convenient to use, It has a very good quality padded carry case with a shoulder strap which doubles as a guitar strap Donner also include some guitar picks and a small storage case for the earphones, I was also pleasantly surprised with the quality of the included lead which had propper 1/4 Jack plugs Donner have included everything you need in this well thought out guitar package I do have several other Donner product's in my studio from lead guitars to the Donner 88 key SE-1 Piano in Red which came as a package with a black stand with built in triple foot pedals which in my opinion is also a very good quality Donner product..The reason I buy Donner is for the quality and reliability of all there products,There customer service department is excellent if I need advice or support they are always happy to HelpIts Definitely worth keeping a eye on Donner for any new innovative products.

Donner travel guitar
Amazing travel guitar. Just need truss rod tightening to bring the action into desired hight down the neck. They have to listen truss rod in travel I suppose. The nut is a great hight for me. The sound is great and plays well through positive grid bias FX for some different sounds on the go.

Updated review: the product support has been excellent.
Upon arrival I was very impressed with the guitar and it checked all the boxes; it was certainly compact and travel friendly which was something I needed as a student travelling between university and home. Unfortunately the headphone output and sound stopped working after a few months, and this problem continued despite trying several new batteries. This said, Donner support was excellent about getting to the bottom of the problem and were incredibly accommodating, offering a full refund. They have also offered to send me a new unit to test and I’m hopeful the fault with the previous unit will not be an issue. I will further update this review once I have had a chance to test it.

Quite happy! mostly good, some bad.
As far as travel guitar goes, Donner came close to nailing it here. For the price it's excellent. Very lightweight, comes with everything even a beginner would need to get started, aside from a proper setup. It packs away small. It's quiet, and suits my needs great. Some nice features. The good: full scale and very comfortable neck, good fretwork and nice quality construction. Nice you can plug in headphones and it gets loud plugged in with them. Piezo works good, and is a very comfortable neck to play, much nicer than a lot of guitars I've held, it's actually my favorite neck. The lack of headstock and maple construction also makes it durable. It comes with a tuner, case, headphones, batteries and the tools you need to adjust the truss rod, tuners, and tighten on the supports. After a setup I'm very happy with this guitar! The bad: the guitar neck needed a lot of tightening with the truss rod. The action was way too high, even for an acoustic. The nexk was bowed like a letter C, I've honestly never seen something so curved, and the strings were not even tight. It took a lot of tightening to get it playable. It's still a bit higher at the bridge end, but for an acoustic its reasonable, just wasnt bothered to remove the bridge and file off a mil or 2. (It is an acoustic model, so don't expect a low action) but this was WAY too high out of the box. The braces require manual screws to tighten in place, it's firm, but the pieces are small and no extras were provided, a couple extra screws shouldve been in the bag, but you need 2. And 2 is all i received, but did get a spare Allen key, that's much larger than the one in the body of the guitar. setup takes a moment and you gotta be careful not to lose a screw. Considering iys a travel guitar its not ideal for repeated tightening and loosening. The bottom brace, which will take more punishment is only held by 1 point, which becomes a swivel and pivot point, poor design here. Considering all the good features that was overlooked. A quick connect and second point of attachment should have been provided. So don't beat this around too much because I'm not super confident it'll take a lot of abuse, but for what it is, if it sits on your lap and you practice, should hold up fine, just nurse the bottom brace.Overall: For the money if you're looking for a travel guitar, something you can practice on, and don't care too much about your tone or performances, this is excellent to keep you sharp on the road, and with a decent amp and effects, it'll still hold its own. You won't get any rich sounds out of it, but for what it's worth I'm pretty happy. If you're just looking for a beginner guitar, not the best choice, bit if you want something you can bring on a plane, or backpack with, which won't wake your neighbors or break the bank. I recommend it. The construction was good, smooth, comfortable and quality work. The neck needs a cleaning, and the frets could use a polish, but don't need to be dressed. The bridge will get filled down a little when I replace the strings. It's been a week so far, and since I set it up, it's held tune after at least 12 hours of playing. I mean, it's no torture test, but it's doing its job well.I'd recommend it! The hush x would be preferred but honestly it seems a bit pricey Considering its basically this with electric strings and pickups. Not really worth an extra 200 bucks, could almost get 2 of these.

HUSH-X Guitar
Updating this review, after Customer Service got involved and went above and beyond to make everything right, and then some.I ordered this HUSH-I guitar and my experience was not the best, but I was offered to review the HUSH-X, which was more along the lines of what I wanted.I wasn’t expecting much after the original experience with the Hush I, but the new HUSH-X guitar really surprised me -- positively. The fit and finish of this little guitar is really top notch. It was a very pleasant experience opening the gig bag - a very nice gig bag, I might add.The devil is in the details, so I enjoyed finding that they had included a strap for the guitar, (along with one for the gig bag itself), as well as a 1/4” cable. To top it off, I noticed the little fine-tuning wrenches are well located inside of the battery compartment lid, but they also included an additional set, plus some extra saddle screws. Very nice touch. Never seen any other brand do that. The metal arms on the HUSH-X are 1000% better than on the HUSH I. They feel much more secure, and being able to mount them without the need for a tool is game-changing.As for the tone of the guitar, it plays nicely. Once I tuned it, intonation on 4 out of the 6 strings was perfect. The other two (low E and A) need some minor work, but nothing too bad. The action is a little bit high for my taste, but on this HUSH-X it should be easy enough to adjust.I was surprised to get such good resonance from this little gal. And the pickups do a good job. For those interested, it doesn't look like the pickups can be moved up and down, like on a regular Strat or Tele. These ones seem to be set at one position and they need to be kept there. The neck on this HUSH-X feels really nice but, in all fairness, the neck on the HUSH-I also felt great. And the fret work is truly spot-on. No sharp edges at all. Buttery smooth when sliding up and down the neck. And the fret ends were nicely rounded.I’m also very impressed with the tuning machines and the bridge in general. The tuning precision is really really solid. I’m still playing with it to get more familiar with the intonation on this system, but the tuning is so much more improved in this HUSH-X guitar over the HUSH-I, which needed the little wrench to turn them, and the were nowhere near as precise.I wish they offered a black version. This thing in black will look amazing! All in all, I can highly recommend the HUSH-X guitar for someone starting out, or for those people who need a small, convenient guitar to travel with. Or even if you want something light and comfortable to sit on the couch and noodle with. This is the one.
