Junk. Makes good coffee, but its unusable because cheap quality
First: this review is for a 14 cup coffee maker, not 12 cup. Bought this unit about 1 year ago. As a coffee maker it works well. BUT, today its now unusable because the plastic handle on the carafe broken off at the top when lifting the pot full of coffee. Luckily no one was hurt. What good is an expensive coffee maker if the manufacturer cheaps-out on a flimsy handle?

Krups Simply Brew
Good unit, easy to set up, use and clean up. The coffee strength feature is a real plus. Recommended.

BESR COFFEEEEE MAKER EVER
Brewing coffee in 3 settings, light, medium or strong! It had a large brewing capacity for a whole group of people! Love it for when I host parties, tastes amazing and it makes low noise!

Just average
Sleek and stylish. Had all the bells and whistles I wanted in a coffee maker. Coffee tasted fine, no complaints about quality of the brew or the time it took to make a full pot. The pot, though, was slightly smaller than I anticipated. Not all "12 cups" are measured the same, and this is a bit egregious. The touchbuttons on the front - not always easy to depress. Had to press a bit harder than I wanted, but then sometimes it would recognize accidental light touches. And the programming was a bit challenging to remember what button does what (labeling isn't the greatest). The brew basket was easy to overfill with water, so the design allows it to short circuit itself out of operation. But it died after 1 week, so returned it. Too bad, I like the Krups brand but had to move on.

Will Not Buy Again
I purchased the Krupp Coffee Maker because we had one previously and it lasted a long time. It was a great coffee maker and was easy to use and clean. I thought this new one would be like the other one I had. However, this proved to be incorrect. There are several things that makes this one not the same. The pot holds 12 cups of good tasting coffee. However, the pot itself is not easy to use. Its top is “top heavy” hard to keep open while filling it with water. It flops over and closes while filling. You have to hold it open to fill. I either take the top off or just let the water run through the drip top. To clean the top comes off easily. The top has a tube that the hot coffee drips through. The other model I had owned before allowed the user to simply twist and take off to clean and run through the dishwasher. The new one does not come off. It’s harder to clean. The clock is not user friendly. To program the timer is easy. Yet, setting the time is not. Also after owning it for 11 months the some of the numbers have disappeared in some of the digits. (I own a smaller 10 cup model too and the digits have done the same thing). The CLEAN function will not stop flashing. I follow the directions on cleaning the coffee maker yet it continues to flash. I’m very disappointed in the Krupps coffee maker. Why not keep things the same when it is already a good product? Now, because of these problems I will not be purchasing this brand in the future. And if I could I would have given this no stars in the review.

Great brew
We loved our other coffee maker but it turns out the watts on it was about 80% double this one which is around 900. We kept tripping the outlet breaker with the prior one. We've had other Krups coffee makers, they have all been good. No issues since having it for a couple of weeks.

GOOD coffee, Bad design.
I have a love/hate relationship with this product. UNLIKE every other Krups pot I have owned, this uses a flat bottom filter. It has a mesh filter in it. If used with just that filter, "fines" end up as sludge in the cup. If used with a paper filter, it blows grounds all over the inside of the machine which can end up in the pot. What i like about this pot: The 'on button' is right up front. The strength of the coffee can be programmed with a simple button. The resulting coffee tastes good. What I DISlike about this pot. First off - the filter arrangement. It has a little handle to pull the basket out, but it's necessary to fish around in the grounds to find the handle to lift it out with. Might as well take out the whole thing, basket holder and all, because the grounds will have to be rinsed off everything anyway. The pot lid has a "stalk" in the middle to guide the dripping coffee to the bottom of the pot. It's not possible to leave the pot unattended in the sink to fill while I put the coffee in the basket, because the weight of the "stalk" makes the lid go shut, resulting in water everywhere. The lid to the pot is so long that it's necessary to pull the pot all the way to the front of the counter to fill. Otherwise, the lid doesn't clear the upper cabinets to stay open, and, unless I slide it such that the knob of the adjoining cabinet holds the lid open, sometimes it slaps shut while filling anyway, resulting in water everywhere. This pot annoys me daily, and I wish I had returned it back when I bought it.
