I went through that exercise many years ago, and can now confidently buy any Ecco shoes online and know they'll fit. Their sizes are 100% consistent within the brand, so once you know which one fits you, any other Ecco of the same size will also fit. I have a few of their cap and bicycle toe oxfords in various colors which are great for business casual / every day wear. I'm on my 3rd pair of what they're currently calling Track II, the first set lasted 10 years of literally every day wear on concrete and asphalt, river rocks, lava and sand, etc. Best all around outdoor shoe I've ever had, by a mile. These leather sneaks are comfortable, seem well made, and look fine.
