Should have bought a metal wrench. This wrench is made of hard tough plastic. It won't make a spark, but slips and doesn't bite when trying to turn the bung plug. If the bung plug is a little worn, the wrench has a trouble turning the plug. Also the handle is a little short not giving enough leverage.

We use a lot of plastic 55-gallon drums with the 2-inch NPT and buttress thread bungs on top. We also go through a lot of 275-gallon IBC totes that have the 2" bung in the 6" top cap. Consequently, we always seem to lose our nice metal bung wrenches or leave it on the other side of town. Or, they are stolen by raccoons. In any case, I picked up a pack of 3 of these plastic ones just so I can intentionally leave one at each place we use these barrels. They are flat black so the raccoons pay them no attention! Bonus!Functionally, they seem to work just as well as the metal ones. I wouldn't crank down quite as hard on these as I would the metal ones, but I have a habit of overtightening the caps anyway. So, in a way, these help me from tightening the caps too much! Will probably end up buying more as I lose them so often! Highly recommend, even if you already have a metal one, to buy a couple of these just to leave around your job/home/etc so you don't have to run around looking for your old one!

They wrenches have survived so far and they function perfectly. They are inexpensive enough, that if I break one I don't feel too bad about it.I have used them exclusively on plastic barrels and caps with no trouble.
