Does brita maxtra+ water filter cartridges(uk version) fit for my brita marella "cool colours" jug with an universal filter cartridge?

What do these do that the non-plus ones don't? And are they the same size?

They are the same size BUT the original do NOT fit a 'plus' jug. The 'plus' filter cartridges have 2 grooves at each end that fit matching ridges in the jug. A standard filter just floats off when filled with water.

what is difference between maxtra and maxtra +

Maxtra+ is Brita's improved version of Maxtra. Maxtra+ is designed to be a direct replacement for Maxtra with improved filtration performance and to last longer between changes, they have amended the materials inside to achieve this. Externally Brita have changed the top of the filter, the part where you hold the filter to replace it.

Are maxtra + filters compatible with a UK filter jug?

Yes, as long as the jug is a Brita. I use them all the time.
