Bridges: Spanning the World

It is a wonderful book about bridges of all types and ages from all round the world. Have only just started reading it but it begins very interesting.

Lovely and informative book. Unfortunately my copy was delivered with some scuffing to the cover, which would not have worried me unduly, except that it was intended as a special occasion gift for someone. Amazon provided full refund promptly. As a book and reference for iconic bridges it is a well presented work, although the hardcover is of a glossy-finished stiff card laminate which can be readily creased if the edges are knocked or the surface abraded. Its a production characteristic and in time it will take knocks anyway, so if your not to worried about that the content is well recommended

A very professionally produced book. Excellent photographs of bridges from all over the world and from ancient times, though the emphasis is on the last couple of hundred years or so. Descriptions of each bridge are more than sufficient without being long-winded. This was bought for a civil engineer with a special interest in bridges.....he has really enjoyed reading it.

Bridges treated as Wonders of the World, as so many of them are. Some are made fromroots and branches woven together, some wood, some of steel. Many are awe-inspiring.
