It comes from crystals that grow off lava after flowing into the ocean. It's one of the very few negative charged minerals. When you drink it - toxins, heavy metals, etc. (that are positive charge) are drawn into the honey comb structure, then pee'd out without causing herxing (symptoms from detoxing) from toxin getting drawn into your bloodstream. My daughter who deals with Lyme Disease, when feeling sick, will drink this and feels better within minutes. She say's it tastes like rocks, but she always licked rock as a child and likes that earthy flavor. Just down it fast as it does have a little gritty texture - but not bad. I like it , I feel like I could feel a difference when I was taking it. ie. feel that it was aiding in flushing out toxins & metals & whatnot when I was taking it in the morning on empty stomach during a heavy metal detox.
