It does not come with a tuning hammer. You would have to buy one separately, or use one from another kalimba. It’s sturdy, made of solid wood, and the wood is very nicely polished. This would make a great gift for a child, or use it yourself when you’re feeling bored standing in line… it’s very quiet, so it won’t bother anyone around you. It might attract some curious attention, though. The price is great, it’s a cute, well-made little kalimba. Since this is only 8 tines, your musical repertoire will be severely limited, but it’s nice for fun. My other two kalimbas are top brand names and professional quality, with 34 and 36 tines, so I have some good comparisons to draw from in giving this review. I think this is a great buy!
