Very good piece of kit with the Makita trimmer when you put. it together, it’s a it’s a tool so 5 stars

Bought the 240 volt makita trimmer a few months previous and found it to be a great little tool, light weight and a solid build. I bought this attachment to make it a more versatile tool as my 1/4 inch trend router had died.While a little expensive (I'm in for about £180 with the trimmer and this plunge base!) I cannot fault it. It feels comfortable in the hand, the depth stop works nice, dust extraction is good and the plunge action is spot on with no play.The guide bush size is different from the trimmer which is a bit annoying but Makita do sell an adapter. But to be honest I like to have the extra width so you can see the cutting process.The main advantage of this base for me is that I plan to buy the cordless trimmer (body only) and use this with my door jig which should speed things up considerably.While expensive I think it's a worthwhile investment, especially if you already have the trimmer

Bought this hoping that it'd be compatible with my XTR01Z, which is a USA model number of the DRT50. I'm glad to report it fits perfectly!Highly easy to use, very smooth plunge motion and comfortable handles. Well built and presented nicely, a brilliant addition to the router. Highly recommended.

Great tool dust collector could be better

Looks well made, but as I haven't used it yet I can't say how well it works with the partnering router. In fact, it is telling that I have used the router many times and yet I haven't felt the need to use this attachment with it! So I guess that translates to "don't buy this unless you know you need it !"

Awesome, nice fit for the Makita trimmer.It's very solid, little or no wiggle on the base. The rubber grips are solid.No dust extractor vent included, you need to buy that separately, which is a bit tight to be honest given that it's made out of super cheap plastic.The finish on the tool is good, the motion is smooth and it's reasonably easy to set distances.If you're pondering whether to get this or one of the cheaper copies, save your pennies and get this one. There are many parts to this base that one cheap replacement or badly formed screw would turn it into more trouble than it's worth. You'll save yourself a lot of grief by just getting this one.

Had the router. Needed a plunge base. It all made sense really. Works really well, although you just need to make sure it's locked off properly if you need to.
