Definitely for beginners!
I have had some experience with drones and such so I kinda knew what I was getting into when I got this drone to begin with. It is quite easy to fly with multiple speed settings. I recommend starting out slow and then going to next levels as your confidence grows. It is quite simple in its settings once you read the directions included in the box. This drone is surprisingly light! I was amazed at how cheap it feels! It is by no means a high quality or professional drone. It is surprisingly tough though. I hit the wall a couple times and it fell probably 10 feet at least twice and still flew quite well afterwards. I was amazed at how it held up to those fails! The camera also is not able to be moved around with the phone. It is in a fixed position and you can move it with your fingers but you have to just move it to about where you want it and then fly and shoot pictures. It is pretty bad quality but hey it’s not awful for what it costs. It was quite fun to fly around and would make a great drone for young guys without enough stuff to do or even older guys looking for some adventure. I’d recommend it for someone wanting to maneuver a piece of plastic through the air but if you are looking for stunning footage, just buy a DJI.

Flies nice, but has poor image quality.
There's a lot to like about this drone: the drone itself and the transmitter are both well made. You really couldn't ask for more from a beginner drone. In calm air it is very stable and capable of a smooth and virtually movement-free hover. One key take-off and land are invaluable features for a newbie, as are altitude hold and collision avoidance. Once trim levels are set, this machine is a beauty - until the wind picks up. All the stated features on the one I received work, and work well. That said, as is usually the case with starter drones, the app required for fly-by-phone capability is a bit tetchy and will require patience in getting it set up and ready to fly. Once your connection is established, however, you are able to ditch the included remote transmitter and use your phone to fly, initiate photos or videos, etc. And the app is a very pretty set-up with all the buttons arranged smartly on the perimeter and the joystick icons where they are easily reached. The most disappointing feature of the drone is, naturally, the camera; it takes mediocre shots at best. The accompanying photos (taken with a Panasonic camera) are actually shown on my wife's Moto phone, since I received an error message whenever I tried to share them by email or into Photos or Drive. To conclude: for learning the basics of drone flight without spending a lot, this is a fairly nice set-up. For breathtaking imagery you can share, you might want to spend more.

Finally a beginner drone for beginners
I've ruined so many drones that claimed to be for beginners because they were usually too hard to navigate, crashed too easily, or just cheaply made. Why is this drone different? The controls are straightforward, there's no complicated syncing, and the propeller guards actually stay in place and don't crack after hitting its first obstacle. The battery life is typical for a drone in this category, but the extra battery is a great bonus. Another plus about the battery is the design and ease of installing it. There's no battery cover to worry about as the battery just snaps in place to the underside of the drone's body. After trimming the direction, the drone flies steady and even suitable for indoor flight. The camera quality is par. The only disappointment I have is the obstacle avoidance feature only works when the drone is moving at slower speeds.

A better beginner drone!
What it is: Foldable quadcopter drone with FPV (via phone app), Full HD video/pics, obstacle avoidance, remote, and extras: Case, 2 LiOn batteries, usb charging cable, screwdriver, 4 blade guards, 4 spare props, instructions. Controller features the following buttons in addition to the throttle and direction joysticks: speed mode (3), obstacle avoidance, headless/return to home mode, one key takeoff, one key/emergency landing, roll, left, right, forward, back trim. Why I like it: It is slightly larger and more powerful than my other drone, making it easier to fly in a breeze. Pairing the app and gyroscope initialization is super easy, but I prefer the response of using the controller itself rather then the onscreen controls. Range and image quality is what you would expect for a sub $100 drone, making it a nice choice for learning. The obstacle avoidance is a nice feature, and as is one touch takeoff and landing. Battery run time depends on the speed and wind—I get more runtime in milder days. Some buttons are labeled, and some are not—commit them to memory so as to not accidentally activate an unwanted feature or maneuver! Overall, a solid little drone with performance to match!

Great drone to practice and familiarize with the tech
This is a great entry-level drone to familiarize yourself with the tech and learn how to fly. Some of the controls could be improved and could be better than more high-end drones, but this is what I needed to improve my flying skills before investing in more high-end products. It costs a lot to replace a drone, but this one is better.
