I bought a bed that ended up being as hard as a rock. Rather than buying another new one, I've been on a search for the right mattress topper to make it more comfortable. I first bought a dual layer (both memory foam and padding on top of that) from sleep innovations. It felt wonderful, but I started having strong vertigo and headaches (I am not a headache person) all day long. I didn't even equate it with the topper because it was happening during the day, not while I was even home and around the topper. I suddenly remembered that I had read one lone review from someone before buying it who said they had vertigo from the topper (which I had dismissed as ridiculous at the time). I then realized my vertigo started the morning after I first slept on the topper! It also smelled bad whenever it got heated from body heat. I read that different companies use different chemicals on their memory foam and whatever sleep innovations uses must be bad, at least for me. I then bought a 1.5 inch mattress topper by serta which smelled awful, but seemed to slightly soften the bed. I used it for a couple months but never slept well due to still having pressure points from the hard bed. Then I tried adding a fiber bed on top of it which helped me sleep and felt awesome and cloud like, but after a week my low back and sciatica started hurting. I think because it was too thick and I sank down into it which caused my body to be misaligned. I woke up feeling desperate, not wanting to sleep another night on either the rock hard bed or the soft, but painful topper. I thought a 2 inch might add just enough softness, but not cause me to sink in too much. I got on amazon to see what they had with same-day shipping. A sleep innovations topper came up, but I refused to buy another from them after having the vertigo from their other topper. I also saw this brand and was hesitant to buy it because I have never heard of this company and I know that there are huge variations between different companies' memory foam formulations. But, I liked how it was made in America and it had good reviews. I ordered it since it has a money back guaranty. Right out of the box there was hardly any odor at all. I put it on my bed and let it sit on top with the fan on for about 2 hours, then made my bed with it. I was concerned that I would smell it at night like I did the others once it got warm, but there was no odor at all while laying on it even from the first night! The extra 1/2 inch oddly does make quite a bit of difference to me and softens the bed more. I've now been sleeping on it for a week and have not had any issues with it. It softens the pressure points on my hips and shoulders and makes the bed feel comfortable enough without anything else. I now feel like I have the firm support, but with a comfortable feel that I was looking for. This topper fits perfectly, unlike some others I've tried that were slightly too narrow or short. But this reaches the ends of my mattress in all directions. I put a mattress pad over it and it fits perfectly to all edges. The topper is very soft, so hopefully it will hold up over time.

The topper in the 2” version fit my queen mattress from edge to edge. It was not skimpy. After being removed from the package it quickly puffed up to the full 2”. The 3 lb density feels firmer than my prior 1 ½” mattress topper which had deteriorated over 5 years. (We buy only very firm tight top mattresses and add a foam topper for comfort. I feel pillow top mattress foam will deteriorate over time and this way I can replace the topper when needed and not an entire mattress.) I put a quilted cotton mattress cover over a foam mattress topper for protection which doesn’t impact the feel. Getting into bed with this topper is heavenly. It is comfortable and does support us well, but keep in mind that we are quite small people with my husband weighing 135 lbs and me at 118 lbs. I can’t project how it would work for people who are heavier, but a lesser density would probably sink more and provide less support. I wish all of the toppers on Amazon and other sites disclosed the foam density. If they don’t disclose foam density you can pretty much assume that they aren’t going to be very dense at all.

I bought this pad to try and get a few more months out of an older mattress. I like the weight, its definitely not egg crate or simple/cheap foam material. I could have used the 3 inch thickness, but 2 inches does what I need it to. The quality seems pretty good, it is definitely 3 lb memory foam. It does sleep slightly warmer than the mattress alone, but its a trade off for comfort. Its soft and pliable but returns to its shape quickly like good memory foam. I had no issues with odors. Placing it on the bed takes a bit of work so you don't tear it (it doesn't 'drag' over the mattress easily due to the weight and texture). I'd buy it again.

It was so easy to but on your bed and unroll it, it started to shape instantly within 30 minutes it was ready to put my mattress cover on it. I'm disabled I broke my neck and I have 7 inches of metal and screws in my neck and back plus muscle and nerve damage so I'm in pain 24/7 it takes alot of time for me to get comfortable and find the right spot to go to sleep. The very first night I slept like a baby, I was so surprised because I had a 4inch memory foam and I had to take it off because it was so uncomfortable. But I felt like I was in a cocoon with this 2 inch gel infused memory foam. I really recommend this highly and believe me I don't do that very often...... I had no chemical smell at all, it didn't smell like anything. I hope it lasts a long time because it's so nice to get in the bed and not toss and turn to find a comfortable position now I lay down" I'm a side sleeper " and go to sleep pretty fast...

so far so good! We were unsure it would bounce to full size considering how well packed it was. We un-packaged it in a clear area and let it expand & air out for a few days. It was far less smelly than the other foam toppers we have purchased in the past which was the first pleasant surprise. It has been slept on for about two weeks now and so far it is amazing!. It is for my son's room. The other day I laid down to chat with my son and was shocked at how cozy the bed felt. It offers a good deal of support while being airy at the same time. We haven't noticed the sinking in or body indentations that you see with other products. I am guessing that is due to the combination of foam & gel. We purposefully purchased the 2 inch topper after having read about the sinking that others reported with the 3 inch topper. the two inches is more than enough. btw - my son's bed is a double/full standard mattress that sits on a wooden platform (no box spring). So far we are fully satisfied. If we like it as much in another couple of months, I plan to purchase the same product for my queen sized bed.

Not as firm as I thought it would be

There was a tear in it. Wanted to get it replaced but Amazon doesn't have this option. Now I have to find a big box to ship it in as the box it came in won't work as it expands when you take it out. Couldn't find a link to chat with someone at Amazon. Disappointed in the customer service which is no customer service

Not high density, I knew it the minute I picked up the box !
