I bought this inexpensive portable fire pit for an unconventional purpose - to burn old documents that contained sensitive identifying information. I didn't want to spend the money necessary for a decent shredder & I didn't like the time consuming idea of using a rolling stamper that may or may not obscure what I don't readable, or even worse, getting a cramp in my hand while spending forever cutting the documents up by hand!While searching for something I could safely destroy my old documents in by fire, I came across this awesome little portable fire pit. I was slightly nervous about the sturdiness of this item, but I figured if it looked unstable, I'd just send it back.The set up is simple & self explanatory. Once assembled, I was rather impressed with its strength. I might actually use this again later on for its intended use!I took out to my backyard, set it down on some level dirt, checked to make sure it wasn't too windy, grabbed the garden hose & turned it on (just in case) along with the metal sprinkler key (in case I needed to reposition anything burning), lit the first paper on fire & set it on the metal dish. Slowly feeding the fire 2 pages at a time, I was able to destroy my old documents in record time!!!I can't speak on the sturdiness of the overhead grill because I haven't used it yet, but this little portable fire pit rocks! It's light weight, folds up very small, & even comes with its own carrying bag! Its high enough that it doesn't scorch the ground underneath it too.The only thing I would caution people who want to use this fire pit for the same reason I did, don't do it when it's windy! Obviously paper doesn't weight much & it would be easy for the wind to pick up your burning papers & start a bigger fire!!! Please use common sense.I'm extremely happy with my purchase & look forward to using this fire pit again in the future!

The media could not be loaded.  This portable fire pit is perfect!It takes a minute or less to assemble. It'll be perfect for flat terrain, but we were on slanted rocks and it still worked out fine. We used a big rock to hold one leg down to keep it sturdy.It works well with charcoal, but you can possible put up to a few logs into this pit. We caught some lake trouts and cooked them perfectly in the open fire pit.I recommend this pit if you’re looking for a small portable and efficient fire pit to add to your light pack.

This is made so cheaply that I wouldn't hardly trust burning a matchstick in it.

It works really well! It is smaller than I thought but that’s probably because I can’t read dementions well. It works great though!

I guess I should have looked at the product description and pictures more. It’s definitely not a durable fire pit but that’s not what I expected from a portable camping one. Bought this for my emergency kit. It will do the job. It is missing the bolt and nut to hold the center of the disc in place and packaging was not well put together. I thought it was just a disc and not multiple pieces that fan out to a disc. That’s my bad.

This product is well worth the money. I am on week 3 of a trip and have used it many times. Once, I kept a fire going in it almost the entire day. The product is holding up just fine. The compact design was exactly what I needed for space conservation in a small vehicle. The set-up is a little awkward at first, but gets easier each time. Embers will fall out so make sure there is nothing below or around the pit that could catch fire. It’s surprisingly sturdy for such a light weight design. Still, smaller pieces of wood work best. This is shallow enough to allow good air flow. Not suitable for windy conditions. This foldable fire pit is the best and I am so thankful to have it with me on this trip!

I bought this product days before my camping trip because i was going to a site without a pit. I was worried it might be too small for the actual fire, but man was I impressed with the ease of setup and quality.First, it was such a small container that it barely added any extra room and weight to my gear set. That was amazing. Secondly, it held a very nice and clean fire where i was able to make some soup and coffee in the morning, also toasted some brats!Clean up was a breeze, just a quick rinse when i got home and packed it up for the next adventure!

Perfect for small spaces, definitely worth the purchase!
