Good coasters are hard to find. We live in a hot, humid area where everything you drink requires a really absorbent coaster because of condensation. We've tried every kind of coaster there is, and have settled on only two types that work. Cork and the thick woven ones that look like little round rugs. The cork ones are easier to find, and less expensive, and we go through a lot of them.This particular set of 8 is a nice little set. They come in a neutral color (black), ergonomic holder, and they have rounded edges. They are a little thinner than the best ones we've found, but definitely not the thinnest; they're thick enough to absorb the condensation of a drink or two, before needing to dry out. So they function as well as can be expected. Also, you've got to love the name of the store. Who doesn't like a faithful panda?

Packaged well, exactly what I wanted. No frills but simple and works great.

When I first saw these, I thought they would the same as those many of us had around in the 1970s, with the thick, harder cork look and feel, but they are thinner and also lighter and more flexible. The original version was thick and tough and hard. The extra large size of these is also an updated feature so these can accommodate larger drinks, small pots (like it says in the description) or other things. The plastic holder lends itself more to outdoor patio or other casual settings though. I wouldn't use this inside my home but that's just me.

These Cork Coasters are Large in size for a coaster. They are well made, with nice finished rounded edges. Because cork is a natural and renewable material, it is antimicrobial and mold-resistant, which is great. I wish they were a bit more sturdy ... you can bend them in half, and I could probably snap one in half if I wanted to. The Stand that the coasters sit in is plastic, but it looks okay and does its job. I am thinking of personalizing this coaster set with some diamond painting or some other craft, since they are so plain.
