Very good Chromebook
Needed to replace an old Chromebook that had served me well for 4 years but the battery was diminishing and the cursor pad was also a bit naff. So I had a look for a replacement and found this Lenovo chromebook and it is a really nice bit of kit, the Media Tek Kampanio520 with 8GB of RAM is fantastic at this price point and it is a definite improvement on my previous Chromebook in terms of speed and usability..This Lenovo Chromebook is perfect for everyday browsing, e-mails, etc. but it also has great sound via the front facing speakers.. If you are looking for a reasonably priced Chromebook that works really well, then definitely give this one some serious consideration....

Your everyday tool
EVERYTHING is excellent on this laptop! Except of two things ; Screen luminosity and performance. What I mean for the second one is that you cannot expect to play AAA games on it. But this is something totally right on this price point! The luminosity is the only real disadvantage. It could be higher. The most impressive things on it are the battery life, the portability and the lightweight Chrome OS. It's my first contact with this OS. I mean the guys that have created it are real geniuses! It's the ideal OS for every practical person on this world!

Good value
Bought two of these at £140 for two children, and another one for £129 a year later in an Amazon sale for other child. Teenage children swear by it and I've been impressed (for what they are). For my sake, didn't think the luminance was good enough, but I'm coming exclusively from Apple products and screens - my kids love the screen quality, the speakers and from my perspective they feel robust - chromebooks we've had previously have had a LOT of flex in them (although still stood up to good use in the end) - these are solid. If buying for a student where the school use Google Classroom, is a no brainer good choice - if buying on a budget, you're getting a very decent machine and you'll make it work fine - 8gb of ram at very decent price, especially at the price point we bought.

A Lightweight, Effortless Computing Revelation: Why I Highly Recommend This Chromebook.
This review is for the MediaTek Kompanio 520, 8GB RAM, 128GB eMMC version. I recently acquired two new computers: a high-end, all-singing, all-dancing Lenovo with an OLED screen, 1TB of storage, and 32GB of RAM for my work, and this sleek little Chromebook as a secondary, lightweight companion. My decision to buy the Chromebook was prompted by observing its significant market presence, I noticed that approximately 20% of laptops listed by major retailers were Chromebooks. Given the lack of traditional advertising, I realized this massive growth must be fueled by positive word-of-mouth, which led me to research the devices myself. After watching a few YouTube reviews, I was convinced, and I am now the owner of this nifty machine. Design, Portability, and Initial Setup The portability of this laptop is truly exceptional. Weighing in at just 1.3 kilos, it is incredibly lightweight, you can easily pick it up by the corner with one hand. It is so light that I hardly notice it resting on my knees. This low mass also means it's unlikely to sustain serious damage from a typical drop. Beyond the weight, the user experience is incredibly relaxed: the device is silent in operation, having no fan and no moving parts, and produces only a feeling of gentle warmth underneath, even after an hour of continuous use. Chrome OS itself has been a revelation. The setup process was automated and took barely 15 minutes by simply connecting it to my Android phone. I immediately found myself in a familiar desktop environment, signed in, with my Gmail, Photos app, and Google Docs instantly accessible. The learning curve is shallow; while some minor differences exist compared to Windows, the system is intuitive, making the transition an absolute breeze. Unlike my experience with Windows, this Chromebook has required zero troubleshooting. Performance, Battery, and Security The battery life is outstanding. After 12 hours of use on a dark winter's day (meaning low screen brightness), the laptop still retained over 40% of its charge. This level of endurance makes it perfect for all-day use away from a power outlet. Regarding performance, please take note of one critical piece of advice: I advise you to buy the 8GB model. Chrome OS alone can utilize over 3GB of memory, which will quickly lead to performance bottlenecks. The 8GB model is essential, as it provides roughly 5GB of usable memory, allowing you to comfortably run multiple browser tabs, an email client, the photos app, and several other applications simultaneously without slowdown. For security, there is no need to worry about installing third-party antivirus software, as Google has built-in robust protections. Furthermore, if you've heard that you can't install Linux or Android apps on an ARM chip (like the MediaTek found in this model), those claims are incorrect. I have successfully installed both with ease, following Google's own simple instructions. Hardware and Longevity While onboard speakers are often a weak point on laptops, these are noticeably better than I anticipated. The build quality is excellent. Crucially, Google has committed to supporting Chrome OS on this machine for 10 years after its introduction, which should extend support well into 2033 (please verify the specific model's end-of-life date yourself!). Even after the updates cease, the machine should remain usable for some time. Now for the screen: it uses TN panel technology. While this is an older technology and certainly won't impress those accustomed to high-end displays like my new OLED, it is perfectly usable, bright enough, and I am more than happy with it for what I need. The TN panel is a key reason, along with the arm chip, for the lower power consumption and the lightweight design, making it an acceptable trade-off. Final Verdict For my intended uses of shopping, banking, social media, and emails, this has been an exceptional purchase. I wholeheartedly recommend this Chromebook, especially the 8GB model, for older people, the very young, and anyone who simply wants to get things done without the fuss and maintenance required by Windows. It’s a low-effort, high-reward device. Five Stars.

Amazing value
I love this chromebook. It's very easy to operate, and is speedy enough for all the basic tasks. Battery lasts about a day if unplugged.
