Exo Terra Repti Glo 5.0 Tube, 14 Watt, 15-inch

Came packaged properly in a rounded tube carton . Fits very well and the light is a nice cold shade . I used it for my musk turtle and realised that I probably should have bought the 10.0 but this product is is still good because it does what it says. Also heats up slightly , so warms the tank in a way.

Il tubo fluorescente Repti Glo 5.0 produce, oltre a luce visibile, il 5% di UV-B e il 30% di UV-A; tale radiazione è utile (e in mancanza di esposizione al Sole non filtrato, fondamentale) per i rettili.La gradazione del 5% è adatta per rettili che vivono in ambienti tropicali con esposizione alla luce media (es tartarughe d'acqua); in alternativa sono disponibili lampade che emettono il 2 o il 10% di UV-B.La luce visibile appare, invece, bianco piuttosto freddo (gli umani non percepiscono gli UV).Non è una lampada che scalda quindi, se necessario, va abbinata con lampada che produce calore/infrarossi.I tubi hanno il formato T8 e la lunghezza è variabile in base alla potenza: per esempio ho preso un 14 W/38 cm.Per usare il tubo occorre, ovviamente, un apposito accenditore/ballast.La durata consigliata della lampada è di un anno circa: questa tipologia perde resa nel corso del tempo e quindi conviene sostituirle abbastanza regolarmente. Purtroppo il decadimento non è sempre visibile a occhio nudo.Il prezzo è di 22 euro che, seppur non economico, è abbastanza giustificato dal fatto che non è una tipologia di lampada con enorme richiesta, per cui le economie di scala non sono molto efficienti.

I use these lights for my turtles tank. So far out of the different types of lights I've tried these are by far the best. They have lasted me longer than other brands and are super bright! I used to be able to get them from my local pet store but they stopped carrying them. Luckily I found them on here so I will keep buying them as long as they are available to me!

i really don't know what to say about these lights. i have two of them over my day gecko/frog enclosure and they provide more than sufficient UV lighting. (if you are looking at these you already know why this is important.) my frogs got way darker in color when i switched to these, then the color became REALLY green. same for the gecko. they now spend a lot more time laying on the plants at the top of the cage soaking up the rays. the plants are also very, very healthy. only downside is that i have to trim them back because they are growing to the top of the terrarium and pressing themselves against the screen on top. =)
