Orcs Bad Blood: The Second Omnibus

1st Book in series great
The first one was fantastic, hope this follows in its shoes. Other books to read before getting to this one.

Meandering filler with poor, rushed ending. Not close to the original trilogy.
Enjoyed the first trilogy, but this second trilogy goes downhill chapter by chapter. Gets two stars on the basis that I can't give it 1.5. The fist book is decent - not up to the standard of the first trilogy mind - but I hoped to be engaged and drawn into a larger plot in books 2 and 3, and instead it felt like a bunch of filler with a forced, rushed ending. Essentially one chapter of 'then they all caught up, fought a brief skirmish, the end.' The ultimate anticlimax.Nicholls even manges to get the names of his own characters wrong in book 3, causing me to have to re-read earlier chapters to check I'd not lost my sanity! Poor work by author AND editor!

Stan Nicholls = genius.
Already had the first part of the omnibus but buying this was cheaper than getting the second and third books seperately. All the fun of the original trilogy and read the book in under a week (skipping the first part as I had only just re-read that). Excellent.

Bad Blood - Bad Read.
What starts off as a promising tale bogs itself down half way down with needless side steps, pointless action areas and one of the sloppiest endings I have ever read. The author seems to have been more concerned with describing every sword stroke and step in battle and the book suffers for it as the journey quickly becomes ultimately pointless padding and feels so very rushed, including the death of a particular character after the journey has ended, written of after a hefty amount of time has been spent developing him, more than most characters, with a few lines that may have well been written as "And then he is shot and dies, the end"Pointless at most time, frustratingly so at some, loose ends tied up sloppily, and a dragging tale. A massive let down and deserves a low score for it. I'd recommend avoiding it.
