Welding Helmet Auto Darkening: DEKORPO True Color Solar Powered Auto Darkening Welding Welder Mask Hood Helmets

I received this helmet, (USPS is terrible in my area, as they're lazy) later than I expected, but it wasn't the shipper's fault... This being said. Considering the price paid, it was a STEAL! The quality is exceptional. The head-band is very comfortable, functional, and easy to work even with a heavy welding gloved hand. As well as the self-tinting mechanism working as advertised. I would suggest that after it's received, that you pull off the clear shipping protection, (it inhibits the sensors from working properly) some people may forget to remove this film. There are three pin holes on either side of the the helmet to adjust the angle of the hood in the up/down position. Choose either one of these three positions to adjust the angle of the helmet when raised. With this being said, it functioned exceptionally well, without any disappointments what-so-ever in the unit I received. I was welding at 220 amps, and it functioned very well. I'm quiet pleased with this purchase, (it's a really handsome helmet, and the finish is extremely good). A really good bargain, with quality that exceeds its price point. Thank you kindly.

These are just as good as a Miller helmet and at a fraction of the cost. You can see very well while welding and no issues with “spot effects” after using this helmet. Do yourself a favor and get one for your welding needs.

Solar Powered? When I bought this, I assumed the high-intensity light from the weld would activate the darkening option. When it did not, I thought perhaps the battery needed changing. It is soldered to the board. I teach high school "shop" and the students wanted to look cool with this helmet. They would go blind if I let them use this! DO NOT BUY! I wish I had tested this more thoroughly when I bought it, but I first had to rebuild the mig welder... ALTERNATIVE USE OF HELMET - I have now removed the electronics from the helmet and mounted a SHADE 10 4.5" x 5.25" lens. No light leaks! 3D printers come in handy for making new bezles.
