Good value but clearly some consistency ssues
This is a great value considering what the smaller boxes cost in the stores. My only complaint is that there is quite inconsistent quality among the screws. Some have the square hear filled in with paint, other have a mis-cut square head. Additionally, some of these screws do not lock fully when driven down all the way and instead just keep on spinning....so I wouldn't build critical stuff with these though my 2x4 tables and carts do not have any issues from this. Overall this is the cheapest way to get these screws if you use a lot of them....I just wonder why the quality control is so poor.

Great Screws With One Issue
I purchased these screws for a Girl Scout project building benches. I have built plenty of decks and outdoor furniture the traditional way and figured I would give pocket holes a try for these benches. Pocket hole construction is great but the Kreg screws were a bit frustrating to work with, especially with younger scouts doing the work. The Kreg square drive would not seat well in the head of the screw. If you went off angle with the drill the bit would disengage the screw. Reengaging would sometimes require removing the bit and fishing around for the head by hand. Sawdust, if not completely removed from the pocket holes, would sometimes collect in the disengaged screw head making the situation worse. Having worked with Phillips head and star head screws, these screws would not be my first choice. The problem could be fixed in the greatest part by deepening the square drive pocket on the screw heads.

Excellent bulk price!
I wish they sold 1 million bulk boxes and 2,000 count may seem like a lot but if you work a lot with 2x4's and do weekend work of any kind, these will disappear like water in no time!I'm glad Kreg kept the real square head and did not fully convert to the stupid square + Phillips head I protested about which I got in an argument over with the rep who said they work the same. No it does not. The dumbest decision Kreg has made to this day is that combo screw.Luckily the Blue-Kote is not a combo and prefer this as I've used and sometimes reused many times without an issue. One project will eat up half box of 250 screws easily. It's incredibly strong to say the least. Granted, it won't replace say 3" nail for framing and every application has its preferred method but for the most part, this screw does so many jobs. Between this and 1-1/4" coarse & fine screws, the 2-1/2" gets used the most in my shop.Best of all they are self tapping so it's very easy to use these on any given day.

Good screws and great value
This is a great deal for the amount of screws. It will take me a while to go through this many screws but I will eventually. The price for 2000 screws is about the same as purchasing a few of the smaller packs locally. The square recess head is some what of a pain if you’re installing a screw at an awkward angle as the bit will start to walk out of the screw head. Would be nice if it was a Torxs or even a philips head. Also when installing the screw into a pocket hole, it is very easy for the blue coating to rub off on the washer part of the head.

Kreg knows good quality
First off, an excellent price! To buy a small box of these (100) at your local hardware store you would spend $8-$10 easily. Therefore, $79 for a box of 2,000 is a great deal if you do a lot of woodworking like I do. I have found that Amazon's everyday price on these beats all competitors.I purchased the blue-kote Kreg screws because I knew I would be making some outdoor furniture and they are weather resistant. Kreg screws are meant to be hidden with the pocket hole and filling in with putty. I purchased these to build a 2x4 farmhouse style table for my patio. Since I was drilling all of the pocket holes on the underside of the table that could not be seen I saw no reason to waste my time by filling them in, which is exactly why I wanted the blue-kote screws because they would be exposed. I love these screws every bit as much as the regular kreg screws. The blue coating does rub off a bit if the screw encounters a lot of pressure. For example, where the drill bit and screw meet. I also noticed that when I had to back the screw out there was a bit of rub off. However, the coating didn't seem to come off of the screw--just the color. After months of extreme temperature changes this spring/summer/fall (South Dakota) I've found that the screws live up to my expectations. My table is super sturdy and the exposed screws underneath don't look weathered at all.

These Kreg screws are wonderful, and I am so happy that I bought such a big box at such a great price! I haven't experience the slipping of the blue coated screws that other reviews mention, and I happily use these screws indoors and outdoors. They are wonderfully self-tapping, they hold great, and they help me get all kinds of things built!

2000 pk
Be aware that this box is 2000 loose screws and not 8 of the 250 packs. Good value buying in bulk though. Nearly half the price per screw versus buying 250 at a time.

If you can afford the bulk buy, the avg unit price is great
Not the first time I've bought these, but first time buying the 2000 bulk box. Have used about 400 so far finding 1 bent screw and 1 other screw that had a head that did not fit the drill bit ( maybe too much blue coating). I guess that is normal based on other deck screws I've bought in bulk boxes.Overall very happy getting the average cost considerably down with the bulk buy. To no surprise, these outdoor pocket screws are great as usual.

Great value if you’re going to used them.
With only 2 stores I could buy Kreg screws at and a large list of summer projects I opted for the big box. This box brought my price/screw from $0.12 to $0.05 which adds up over 2000. I have already used enough of them to have spent just as much if I’d bought them in the 250 box from HD

Availabilty
Bought this thinking I was ordering 1000 but actually was 2000 qty. Very economical compared to local suppliers cost wise; while being in stock.
