Make This Viking Settlement (Usborne Cut-out Models)

As a 73 years young disabled man with hand and finger problems I found this model quite brilliant. It was totally absorbing and had me thinking about how these people lived a thousand years ago. I would stress however that it was far from easy and will really stretch the ability of younger children (under 12 years). I have two more of these Usborne models in progress and I will give them to a local junior school on completion for I cannot think of a better way of getting the kids interested in history. The biggest bonus for me is that making these models beats the hell out of the electric shock treatment that I hated having and produces much more relief.

My 9 year old daughter loved making this for a school project. It did take probably 20 or more hours over a couple of weeks and she needed adult help with some of the more tricky bits, but all good fun and she was extremely proud of the result. A great piece of kit at a very reasonable price. We will definitely look at buying another.

This Viking cut-out models book very good for kid to leaning about Viking history . Normoly kid lean history they will feel boring , but that book they can make their Viking village ,and also they can lean viking's houses , people's work , extra............

Perfect for a school project. Bits are small to cut out and you will need small pointy scissors to get in the tiny gaps.

Well thought out and produced. Good strong card, colourfully printed. Ideal for amusement on wet days

This model when completed became a great talking point for year 4 children and showed there was much more to Vikings than just invade and pillage. Took some time and they needed some help, but very worthwhile

super fun to make! it has some tricky bits but most of it is on the easy side.

These books are good for so many reasons. Reasonable price, availability, subject matter, and fun! Usborne books, Dover Publishing and The British Museum Press all have books that are to be used to build things using just the paper/cardstock on which they are printed. What great resources for teachers, community events and keeping those inquireing minds busy.

Wie alle Cut-out-Models einzigartig und großartig. Fingerfertigkeit ist schon gefragt, aber ab Vorschulklasse gut machbar. Der Text in Englisch muss natürlich von den Eltern übersetzt werden. Ein Familienspaß für die, die so etwas gerne zusammen basteln und dann bespielen.
