Bargain RTT
This tent is a bargain for what you get. We’ve used it for multiple trips now and I come away impressed each time. A similarly constructed tent from another brand I was looking at is currently $3500. Sure, this one doesn’t have that brand’s name, but for $2k in savings I’m good with that. We’ve added a flexible solar panel to the top of the tent with Velcro, works great. I’ve got two more panels on order and they’ll just fit. The shoe bags, interior led lighting (usb powered), ladder and roof rack bars all being included is great. Super easy setup and takedown is almost as easy once you get the hang of it. I can get everything ticked in nicely while standing on the open tailgate of the truck. If you asked my 4 year old, he’d say his favorite thing is the iPad pocket (clear plastic - brilliant). There’s plenty of room for the two of us. My wife isn’t a camper, if she was I probably would have stuck with our 10’x14’ canvas tent. I don’t think the three of us would be comfortable in this tent. You should also pay attention to how much weight your roof is designed to handle. I think it looks great, both set up at camp and going down the road. Less bulky on top of the truck than the non-clamshell tents. There’s mounting channels on all sides to accommodate additional accessories, which is great. Next up is possibly mounting a light bar to the front of this thing, and maybe some scene lighting on the sides as well. I do bring a large sleeping bag pad along to supplement the mattress. the mattress is fine, but the extra cushion of the sleeping pad makes for a more comfortable night of sleep. It does have an anti-condensation mat under the mattress, which should help prevent mold. Nice inclusion. The zippers could be a bit higher quality, but they haven’t let us down yet. Hopefully they hold up. No other concerns about the quality of the materials. I’m happy with this purchase. This tent makes it easier to get out there and make memories!

Love this thing
Company is good, trucking company was AMAZING. They came a week early unannounced and he unloaded it and brought it 80ft to my garage with no one home without me even asking him. Very friendly on the phone. Slept great (small amount of hip pain from bottoming out on the mattress). Stayed home dry in light rain with all windows open. This is perfect for last minute overnighters to my camp when I don't want to mess with tents or trailering. Plan on using this to do some touring with quick overnighters along the way. Crazy quality for the price, comes with everything you need. Mattress is good, lining is awesome, inner light is perfect and has a warm/cool light function and dimmer. Shoe bags are perfect and huge. Ladders not bad and very light. Pockets are plentiful. My only gripe is the ladder bag is meh compared to the shoe bags. And their are no loops to hang things inside but I think I can rig up something using the pockets.

Very high quality tent for the price
Update: Took the tent camping in northern New Mexico. We had a couple of cold weather bags, which were a little bit of overkill for 40ish degree nights. The tent slept great and the mattress pad that came with it was actually really nice. By far it's the most comfortable stock mattress I've had so far. There's a ton of storage up top and the LED strip inside the tent is super bright. The blackout interior is no joke. When it's zipped up it is DARK inside the tent. I thought I would miss not having a skylight for airflow but that wasn't an issue at all. My only complaint, if it is a one, is there is a rail to hang the shoe bags. It's on the back of the tent. I wish there was a way to move it to the side, because we have a hatchback and are unable to use that window for access. The ladder worked well. I was worried about it when I first got it, but after fiddling with it, I got it to work well. This is my third RTT, and my first clam shell style. I've been impressed with everything so far. My only concerns are the ladder seemed like it was bent out of the box. It's really hard to open and close. I haven't see one that has been this hard to retract before. I literally have to tap it with a mallet to get it to retract all the way. One of the side poles really sticks and doesn't look aligned very well. I'm assuming that that's a one off problem though. Also, and this is very minor, there is a small electrical plug near the bottom front of the tent that should have a cap on it to keep dust and debris out of it. I didn't find a cap for it in everything they sent with the tent. Everything else seems to be very good quality.

Solid tent with sharp edges
It's a good one. Camped across the US from Phoenix to Philly with this bad boy. Got away with only one citation from a ticket happy state park Ranger in AZ for overnight camping out of season. 🤣 Gave it 4 stars because I cut myself several times on the Naturnest badging plates (×3 sides and back). Be very careful and wear gloves when lifting. I'm going to remove the plates when I have time. Also when stuffing the tent fabric in the sides when closing it is helpful to wear gloves as well. Also the mattress is OK, but not great for sleeping on. I use a Klymit air mattress overlay and sleep like a 🐻. Attached is a pic from 🏕 on the grand canyon south rim.

For the cost, this is a great buy!
Like others that have reviewed this clam shell tent, I'm very impressed so far. It showed up in a hard wooden case that did a great job protecting it. I added two ladder racks from Amazon (see description below), to my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500. I drilled into the bed rail and bolted those on. Lifting it up on to those rails required a friend to help, but it wasn't hard to do. After bolting everything together, I hopped inside and it was easy to open/close and comfortable. I have not taken it camping yet, but I'll add additional detail to this review in a few months when I use it a few times. Two things I noticed that I have not seen in other reviews: 1) the back flap zips from the top down, but does not zip across the bottom, so if you push on it or the wind blows hard, it flaps open a bit. I does hang over the back edge but does not zip close. I found this strange. Either I didn't see how to attach it in some other way, or this is some kind of safety feature so air can get in (that's just a guess). 2) The two half's of the clam shell have a rubber seal that keeps water out when closed. I noticed that in the middle, the two half's were not as tight as the ends. I assume this is because of the length of the aluminum. Since there are T channel tracks built into the aluminum frame, I purchased some additional clamps and t-slot channel nuts and used them to keep it tight (see descriptions below). It has worked perfectly (see pictures). This cost almost nothing, well under $50. I did notice and ordered two of the clamps used on the back of the tent to keep it closed. Of course they showed up after I had already installed the cheaper versions. Each of those clamps cost $40, so to purchase four is another $160, I'll see how the cheap ones work, but, just so everything is the same, I may "bight the bullet" and purchase the stock clamps. I hope this helps - so far this is looking great and I can't wait to give it a try! Even better than you think it is.
I have slept in this tent for five days straight. The mattress is good, but for stay as long as that, I do recommend adding a topper of some kind. I used the mattress topper from my camping cot. High quality craftsmanship. Fit and finish is excellent. The seller is great and very responsive. It comes in an enormous wooden box. You absolutely need to be able to put it on your car. Having done it with two people, I recommend 3 to 4 (as do the directions). Comes with roof racks for the top top of the rooftop tent, a spare set of angled poles for the rear fly, A ladder in a bag, And two shoe bags, which can hang from The tent. The internal light was a nice touch powered by your spare battery pack. Ventilation is good. It stayed dry in a torrential downpour With the Doors on the sides open (I definitely got lucky since I do not think it would’ve fared as well had there been wind). With that said the awning does allow you to keep the side windows open in the rain and still stay dry inside. The shipping was extremely quick, And though the unit itself came with scratches and dents on the bottom, I honestly didn’t care considering how far it traveled to get to me. It did not come with lock washers for mounting The tent to the car roof rack so I end up adding additional locknuts. Gas mileage went down from 19.1 to 17.3. Whistles in the wind, but not terribly so. I definitely do notice on descending turns though. Five out of five I would absolutely buy again and recommend a friend.

Use the condensation flap on the back end
This thing is a great value, the newer model has an input for a diesel heater hose on the driver side bottom hinge. Mattress is pretty comfortable for how thin it is. You may want another set of latches as said in another review. Important to let it dry out between uses or going to the car wash. Do not spray it with high pressure water on the seals. First time camping I was in the rain and snow and I was completely warm and fine and dry. Next time I would use the ventilation flap as condensation built up on the inside. Fabric is very thick and looks durable. Very easy to set up.

No Regrets
For starters I hardly ever write reviews. I read all the reviews and watched all the YouTube vids about this tent weeks before purchasing. Overall the $1400 price compared to $3500 for the ‘name’ brands was a no brainer. The tent arrived today so here are my impressions. 1- the delivery and packaging of the tent was A+. The tent comes in a wood crate, it took me 45min to get it taken apart! Be prepared. Tent has zero cosmetic issues from shipping, it’s protected very well. 2- the quality of the tent definitely rivals any competitor. The mattress seems decent but I’m a manly man with broad shoulders who likes to side sleep so I did some measuring and will probably add a 2” memory foam under the stock mattress. The size of any mattress you add will need to be 48”w X 78” l. I did a test and the tent will close with a 2” memory foam added but I’m not sure about a 3”. 3- cool features include a bag for the ladder! Other reviews don’t mention this. Another surprise was the 12v accessory panel down near the hinge end of the tent. There’s a plug on the outside/underside of the tent that allows you to send power from whatever source you want. This hasn’t been mentioned in any reviews so maybe it’s new. The tent fabric and doors/windows are good. I like the extra tent fabric around the doors to protect the zippers in bad weather. I’ve added pics of all these things for you to see. I’ll be testing the tent out this week but so far I’m very happy with the quality of this tent for the price point.
