Great for the kiddo! STEM
My son absolutely loving it, and honestly, so am I! The setup was ridiculously easy – like, two minutes tops and you're good to go. It comes with a few pieces, but nothing complicated at all. Huge win for busy parents like me!What's really cool is the massive window. Seriously, it makes all the difference. My little guy isn't just using it for ants (though we did try that!). He's been fascinated by putting in rolly pollies and other little backyard explorers. And because the window is so big and clear, we can actually see what they're doing – digging tunnels, moving stuff around. It's way more engaging than I even expected. Plus, it comes with sand, which is super convenient.Honestly, I didn't even realize how much he was learning until we started watching together. We talk about how the bugs move, where they go, what they're doing. It's become this unexpected little science lesson that's actually fun! If you're looking for something that's not only entertaining but also sneakily educational, and a great way to bond with your kiddo, you NEED this. It's sturdy, super easy to get going, and provides hours of fascinating observation. Totally worth it! 👍

Great
The Uncle Milton Giant Ant Farm is an educational and engaging product that offers a unique opportunity for children and adults alike to observe the fascinating world of ants up close. This type of ant farm has been a classic choice for generations, and the Uncle Milton version certainly has its merits. One of the standout features of the Giant Ant Farm is its size. As the name suggests, it's quite spacious, allowing ants to dig tunnels, create chambers, and establish their own intricate colony within the habitat. This offers an excellent opportunity to witness the natural behaviors of ants as they work together to construct their environment. The included gel substance is a convenient alternative to traditional sand or soil-based ant farms. Great gift for young kids!
We got this for our 4yo son for Christmas and he LOVES IT! He likes to make different “scenes” for them and checks on them multiple times a day. This is what the farm looks like after 1 week. After reading some reviews saying the ants could get out the port holes, I put electrical tape around the whole thing. This probably wasn’t necessary, but it makes me feel more comfortable having a bunch of live ants in our house. 🥴Overall I highly recommend for young kids. It’s good quality and has brought a lot of joy to our young kids!

Ants didn’t last long at all.
I was originally against this purchase because who wants ants in their home, but my five year old is super into bugs so we figured why not. The set up was super easy and it was cool to see the ants burrowing and such but they all died within a week so it ended up being a waste of time.

Ants take a wile to get here.
So fun! It did take longer than I expected for the ants to arrive. You order them AFTER you get the farm.

Works well and kid's loved it!
My kid's absolutely loved having ants in this! Worked well, no escapes, and the ants burrowed through the soil particles well!

Ants died within hours
Received this gift and followed the instructions for transferring ants into habitat. Took them right out of the package when they were delivered, put them in the fridge to calm them down, and poured them in. The ants started digging and making tunnels within 30 minutes. After about 2 hours they started slowing down a lot. Within the next hour, they were all dead. I reached out to the company we got the ants from and got no response. To my surprise, when I returned from a weekend getaway and checked my mail, I saw the ants. The company had seen my complaint I sent them about the ants dying. Instead of responding and letting me know that they were going to send more they just sent them. The problem with that is when they send the ants, you have to open the package immediately otherwise, the ants will die. You would think the company would let you know before sending more so you can be prepared. All the ants of course were dead when I opened the package because they got delivered Friday when I was gone and I opened the package as soon as I got home Sunday. I just through away the habitat because it was becoming a headache and my son was super disappointed. This was a birthday gift for him and he was so excited to watch the ants.Overall, I would say it's not worth the headache. I read other reviews and it seemed to be mixed on the ants living so I took a shot...I should have listened to the other people lol.
