I do add a little filtered water to enhance it, also add a spoonful of pumpkin, unsweetened applesauce, chopped fresh frozen green beans and maybe some carrot or other good for them goodies, low calorie, if I have them. I don't do these additions because you need to, I do it for variety and health for them. They clean their bowls every time, even if it is plain. Sometimes I warm the water a little on cold days. One of my chi's has had cancerous tumors removed, and I feel top nutrition is required.
