Yagi continues to work his magic!
I have already gabbled on in in my review for Book 1 that "Claymore" is in a league of its own when it comes to the artwork. Yagi's inking techniques are just as fine and praiseworthy as those of Takeshi Obata (another of my favourite manga artists, illustrated "Deathnote")So what about the story? Does it hold up?Well, yes. The first half of the book is dedicated to more Yoma kick-ass fighting, but it becomes much more intense as this is a seemingly undead one. I was a bit concerned that after reading this, the entire series would be endless Yoma battles with lots of repetition. However, in the second half we take a surprising journey into the past. I won't spoil too much, but let's just say this is where things turn pretty tragic and pretty awesome at the same time!If you haven't, please read my first review as it summarises as to WHY you should get into this series. It's artwork is brilliant, the story (whilst glum) is interesting and engaging, and the characters are equally fascinating!
